England's tour of India (Nov '16/Feb '17)

That is just unbelievable. We cannot be dropping catches like that.

Wish we had taken that Cook chance. This would have been dream session for us. As someone on Cricinfo pointed, Shami and Yadav have bowled beautifully, the wicket numbers does not suggest that.

Well Ashwin has made up for it, get in boys!

Ashwin is so freaking mean. He wanted Cook's wicket :p. This has turned around. Cook gone!

Shami finally has a wicket. He has bowled so well like Yadav. Finally someone takes a catch off his bowling.

what a session!
Sloppy from both the sides first from jadeja then Ashwin dropped a dolly.
England played some poor shots to giveIndia the session.

A good month in Test cricket for alumni of Shree Vidyanagar School Ahmedabad: Jeet Raval debuts Parthiv Patel recalled
Sadly Vidyanagar's sports has gone south in last 3-4 years. Its one of schools that used to produce a lot of sportsmen at the district/state level.

I miss Dravid, VVS, Sachin and their amazing reflexes in slip.[DOUBLEPOST=1480136000][/DOUBLEPOST]Now Ash drops a sitter. Cook has two life. He is gonna make us pay.

This is the perfect start England have. As I have said I am mighty impressed by Hameed, what character he has shown. Its not at all easy coming in and playing so well outside its own country

Afraid not...poor showing again from both !

Good day for India even though we tried so hard to give it away. Both Shami and Yadav has been amazing throughout this series and they bowled with the same intent today as well. Spinners also bowled well and it was good to see Jadeja among the wickets. Hopefully, we can wrap them up quickly tomorrow morning.

I don't believe I am saying this but our fielding has been absolutely horrible. Our catching has been worst and ground fielding hasn't been anything worthy to talk about. The first thing they need to make sure is they need to have a set of slip fielders and they should be allowed some time to settle into that role. Jadeja and Kohli are excellent fielders but they are definitely NOT slip fielders. Rahane is someone who has been given responsibility in that department and they should choose a set of fielders who they feel are comfortable in that position and stick with them and give them some time to learn. If they keep changing the fielders around, it won't help any of them settle down. I know that the injuries and some changes haven't made it easy because Dhawan used to be a slip fielder when he was in the team but now KL is there and he is not as comfortable in slip. So it is difficult but they need to work it out. Our fast bowlers have bowled so well and it is just frustrating to see the catches drop in these conditions when you know fast bowlers won't be in game for too long.

I do not thing it is India's day. The pitch report said its not going to be easy at all. After being 92/4 in first session I think we should have got them below 200. Hatsoff to Bairstow, Butler and Stokes. They played really well.

We need to now rap up quickly and not let the tail play.

I'd say that it's been a shared day, considering that England had a poor start and that India had the opportunity to get England all out 200. Instead fielding was a major issue. I think at this point, more than anything it's time to work on fielding well and restricting the opposition.

It was most definitely our day, let's not forget this is still a very good pitch with no real signs of dangerous turn and invariable bounce (other than the Hameed dismissal), only thing we'd have to worry about is reverse swing with the older ball from Anderson and Stokes.

Been India's morning so far. Well done Shami for getting rid of the tail so early. Parthiv has so far looked bad :p (if you understand what I am trying)

Vijay has walked despite it looking like the umpire wasn't going to give him out, I'm sure England would've reviewed it nonetheless.

Pandya and Rahul have been released from the squad both sustaining training injuries, Rahul however is expected to be back for the Mumbai Test.
