Who is your county team?

I wouldn't bet on it, Durham look good at the moment, and if we win that we have to face an unbeaten Surrey side. Add to that the fact that I doubt Tres will be back anytime soon. Sad times. After the back to back championship wins I thought we would have a chance with that but I think that's out of the question unless we can close the gap before the final game against lancs. Bring in Michael Thornley for a few games considering our entire first choice batting line up minus Supps and Hildy are out. I'm still betting on 3 years in a row of getting agonisingly close to winning something.

oh yea course they did. that massive total. still, given our track record in finals... haha. not a great day today but thanks to worc if we can bat this game out we'll close in on Lancs, Durham look good to win against Sussex so lets hope monty and the batsmen can turn that one around.

Somerset looking real good so far, should be making the final with comfort from this situation. Regarding the other semifinal at the Oval, what happens if the match's abandoned? Do Surrey progress by default?

Normal procedure in semi-finals is to have the day after as a reserve day.

Though, it will be a 24 overs a side game, starting in 5 minutes or so.

Durham have a competitive total there, Somerset bit lacking in experience in batting, still talent there though, but Durham do have a strong bowling line up. Could be interesting game, but switch over to Sussex game obviously!

That Sussex match looks good, they just showed some of Maynards shots on TV. Huge sixes. Shame Suppiah got out a bit foolishly but Somerset going well, Borthwick bowling well though.

Would I correct in saying that Worcestershire now only need 2 points from their final game to secure survival? Thats almost a guarantee isn't it?

Edit: Actually, if Hampshire win massively and get 24 points then Worcs would need 8 points wouldn't they? S**t.....

I wonder if West Indies selectors and officials are keeping tabs on Chris Jordan.

Amjad Aziz is talking out his arse there, he basically just said England don't select Asian cricketers because England think they wont be good enough because they're Asian. Utter tripe that argument, I'd guess its got alot more to do with the fact that these "Asian leagues" (as the film puts it) aren't affiliated with the ECB and Counties more than anything due to them not meeting the correct criteria.

British Asians playing county championship was 27 out of 354, which is about right, that's what, 8%. British Asians make up 4% of the population.

Yeah, it's rubbish, straw-clenching, etc and as Themer points out, many of these leagues don't meet ECB criteria.

Absolute tripe.

what a load of crap that was. I find it especially bemusing when the 2nd player interviewed asks " are you telling me there is no other asian player in thw whole of the system good enough to play with the england team". well no there isn't. You've got Ravi Bopara who was a few short years ago an England regular but has been dropped in recent years due to poor performances. Samit Patel, Adil Rashid and Ajmal Shazhad are talented cricketers and are very good county players but to suggest they replace the current players? not a chance. As for players in that league being good enough to play at the top level? no-one playing on that kind of ground is that good. I play in a league that is a much better standard of cricket and very few of the players are good enough, its mainly the younger players that do. There's even a practically all-asian team, Batley CC who are very good cricketers but if you asked them they would tell you there not good enough. as sureshot said it's just straw-clenching.

Ha well fellas after posting that video couple weeks back i'm only now watching it & yes my god that was indeed crap. If i had watched it first, i probably wouldn't have posted it.

Overall though i think one speaker in the video made a factual point, which is Asian in ENG still view cricket as posh white-upper class sport and thus they feel more cricket affection towards and India and Pakistan. The majority of my Asian friends i know personally tell me that.

But still more English born-Asians want to play cricket for England, than people of Caribbean/African decent. Since the decline of the West Indies blacks like myself are almost totally for football & im sure if you check county cricket off my head other than Mark Carberry their isn't a British-born black player in the system. Most of them like Chris Jordan and Robbie Joseph are West Indian imports.

Keith Barker off the top of my head. Not a lot of others though, perhaps as you suggest more a cultural thing with a lot of black youngsters opting for football over cricket these days. Barker himself played for Blackburn.

Warwickshire starting to click now. Hopefully they'll see off Lancashire to win the CC. Hopefully, we can repay the favour from last year as well, when Lancashire just folded to allow Notts to win the title.

Also good to see Metters in the team for Warwickshire. Played Minor Counties down in Devon but was dropped a while back when they had Patel in the team, but good to see that they have faith in him. His early Stats make him look very promising.

Title now looking all Lancashire's. Warks basically cannot win now, strong fight by Hampshire. Bit late, not sure how a side with the talent they have got relegated, but nevermind!

Surrey and Middlesex back in the First division next season.

Yeah, it does look surprising that Worcestershire managed to stay up, when you compare the two squads. Fair play to Lancashire and Warwickshire to do so well really, when neither looked like favourites at the start of the year. Still not sold on Kerrigan being an International class spinner just yet though.

Buttler IN for Bell at #6, and I can see England winning the 2015 ICC World Cup. Take a bow, you little legend!
