Who is your county team?

Vaughan looks a bit leaner. Still, the Surrey attack is one of the worst out there.

Sorry, Colin :D

Surrey's attack possesses a lot of untapped potential with Meaker and Jordan opening the bowling.

Leicestershire have had the best bowler for us from last year turned down a work permit. Good to see kolpaks are being sorted out but we really needed Dillon. Now he's going to be playing in the IPL.

Looking at our squad it will be an interesting year. Got rid of 8 players (won't count Snape, he retired mid season from memory). Down to 3 kolpaks now. Allenbys an Aussie too but he's on an English passport. :p Lots of young talent coming through. Iain O'Brien as an overseas player seems to be a decent signing as well. Looking forward to the new season. Which will undoubtedly begin with rain :D

Prolific batsman Michael Klinger is the first Australian cricketer to have English county aspirations blocked by changes to United Kingdom work permit regulations.

I see the English are putting their foot down at long last! It better not just be on our players though. I do feel for Klinger as he could have used this to find his strengths and weaknesses.

With many players playing in the IPL it seems a few Kiwi's have been able to pick up county contracts for this season.

Jeetan Patel - Warwickshire
James Franklin - Gloucestershire
Grant Elliot - Surrey
Iain O'Brien - Leicestershire

This is great news because the NZ cricket calender often goes dead around this time particularly the early part of the season.

The MCC team for the Season opener v Durham has been announced.

* Robert Key - Kent
Stephen Moore - Worcestershire
Michael Vaughan - Yorkshire
Ian Bell - Warkwickshire
Tom Westley - Durham UCCE
† James Foster - Essex
Adil Rashid - Yorkshire
Kabir Ali - Worcestershire
Chris Woakes - Warwickshire
Steve Finn - Middlesex
Sajid Mahmood - Lancashire

Good side that. Hopefully Vaughan and Bell'll make hundreds to really put pressure on Shah and Bopara for the Ashes. Hope Mahmood gets some treatment as well, hopefully Durham'll give him a real spanking, smacking 100+ runs off him for no wickets. Like that team, Moore's certainly an opening option if something goes badly wrong at the top/there's an injury. Would have liked to have seen Malan or Morgan in there ahead of Westley, and Napier in for Woakes, but not too many complaints.

Some predictable names, others not expected, like Woakes and Westley. Though they tend to throw one Uni player in at some point.

Just made my CC Fantasy XI:

Joe Denly
Paul Horton
Ian Bell
Dawid Malan
Ryan Ten Doeschate * (Trump Player)
Francois Du Plessis
Ben Scott +
Liam Plunkett
Mark Davies
Robbie Joseph
Amjad Khan

Not entirely happy with it, and it'll probably change. But it's not bad for a first attempt, surprisingly difficult to pick a completely solid XI with the budget given. That'd probably give most county sides a run for their money as well, and there's no overseas player!

Would've liked to see Bresnan in there tbh.
You've got your wish, he's replacing the injured Finn

Kev added 3 Minutes and 33 Seconds later...

KP which competition is this?

Just having a look now, as you say, difficult to pick a team you are totally happy with, but then I guess that's the point :spy

Perhaps we can get a mini-league going here.
