Bowling 5 overs for 18 to a destroyer like Trescothick on what appeared to be a pretty flat pitch (judging by the runs scored) is pretty awesome in my books. Especially for a young bowler.

Jimmy is a god. 6/56 from 32 overs against Sussex. What a bowler.

The England A side that's going to be playing a tour game against the Windies has been announced as well:

Robert Key *
Stephen Moore
Ian Bell
Samit Patel
Jonathan Trott
Luke Wright
Tim Ambrose +
Adil Rashid
Liam Plunkett
Sajid Mahmood
Chris Woakes

Pretty strong side that. Hopefully Bell will make some more big runs and then Saj get spanked at 8 an over going for a wicketless 100 runs. Ambrose ahead of Foster sucks though, Foster's not far off with the batting and a far better keeper, should be in the side tbh.

Cosgrove opening the batting interesting move, hes doing well so far. Have to wait another day before Hughes makes his debut inns.

Yeh, I noticed he was making his debut for Middlesex today. He'll make runs. It's against Glamorgan, in the 2nd division. If he fails, after making runs against Steyn and Ntini I'll be incredibly surprised. Hopefully he will fail though, epically :p

Good day for those looking to get into the England team today as both Anderson and Broad looked to have bolwed brilliantly, plus Broad got a 60. Good to see Patel in the runs aswell he'll be in the England test team before the end of next season in my opinion.

Jimmy Anderson takes 6 wickets for Lancashire, and Glen Chapple takes 4 as Lancashire dismiss Sussex for 289.

End of Day 2 Lancashire 209-4 Recovering from 31-3.

Chilton not out on 72, Croft not out on 52, and Ashwell Prince hit 56 :)

Hughes what a start! 100 in his 1st inns and right on stumps. Looks like he was facing rubbish bowlers oh well he will be happy with that and getting to know the conditions.

Phillip Hughes is a gun. His innings in the Pura Cup final last year and his performances in South Africa are exceptional. I think we are seeing the start of something very special and I'm not afraid to predict it.

Hughes out for 118 to Garnett Kruger. Dawid Malan in now, and going along nicely on 39*, but batting with the tail, hopefully he'll bat through and make a score himself. Big fan of the lad, he's got alot of talent, and seems to make runs in the big occassions when the cameras are out. He's not got a great record at the minute, but that'll come good eventually, he's starting to show some real consistency. Put in some good performances in the pre-season Abu Dhabi tournament, looks a good player. Middlesex have a very good young batting line-up, guys like Hughes, Godleman, Morgan, Malan even Neil Dexter's only 24.

Ashwell Prince should take us over the line at hove now. I always love it when we put one over on Sussex so i'll enjoy this.

Another 5'fer for our Jim as well. What an utter beast of a man.

Jimmy is god. Brilliant to see him bowling consistently, swinging it both ways at pace and picking up wickets. Australia beware, Jimmy's on the prowl!

Edit: Malan out for 88 from 114 balls, top innings that considering he was batting with the tail. Nice acceleration, shame he failed to reach 3 figures.

Wickets for Broad as well. Seems his time learning to bowl on flat wickets has really helped his game. 5/79 from 31 in the 1st innings and 2/27 off 17 in the 2nd. Good performance from him, and from Jimmy. Just a shame that Bell and Vaughan failed to make scores of note.

Edit 2: LOL of the day goes to David Willey and Northants. Willey was clean bowled by Rob Key, who picked up his first ever FC wicket, in a spell of 9 overs, 3 maidens, 1/14. Going at 1.55 an over. Shocking batting that. Joe Denly even managed to get through 21 wicketless overs for just 51 runs.
