Edit 2: LOL of the day goes to David Willey and Northants. Willey was clean bowled by Rob Key, who picked up his first ever FC wicket, in a spell of 9 overs, 3 maidens, 1/14. Going at 1.55 an over. Shocking batting that. Joe Denly even managed to get through 21 wicketless overs for just 51 runs.
I was at the first 2 days of the match and despite the lovely weather it was painful watching Northants bat right from the outset. Granted the wicket looked a little slow but at no point did they try and attack or even go for batting points.

I'd have probably been asleep Northants were that boring.

Pretty hard to ignore Rob Key celebrating ;)
I wouldn't know, I've never seen him celebrate. Walk off with a face like thunder many times, but celebrations are thin on the ground ;) There was the T20 final 2 years ago I guess, but I was pretty plastered myself :D

You never know, he might become prolific in Div2 and get into the England squad for his bowling :p

Nah the selectors will never go for that, they'll probably recall Giles instead :D

BTW, I may have missed Rob's celebrations, but I did see a Monty six (or do we call them DLF Maximums these days, I forget)!

Blimey that's a hard question to answer. I guess I'd put down as reasonably well attended for a Kent CCh match. We probably do better than most for CCh games. For example last year members attendance for CCh games varied from 1137 to 4510 and paid entrants varied from 316 thru 2928. Noticed a lot of regulars where I sit were missing mind so I'd guess it wasnt at the higher end.

Phil Hughes showing Northants how to bat out a draw. 65* from 72 balls with Godleman, Dexter and Morgan all getting out for single figures to Harrison and Shantry. I'm beginning to get annoyed with Phil Hughes, he's got way too much talent for a 19 year old, and knows his game far too well and scores way too many runs. Just wish he was English. Can we not kidnap him as he's at Middlesex? Hold him hostage for 3 years until he qualifies for an English passport and then pick him for England threatening to murder his family if he fails with the bat? They can have Cook as well, just to make it a fair deal.

Talking of Cook. Back on form, getting to 46 and getting out against the West Indies. Foster also failed with the bat, making 23 before being bowled by Baker. Good to see Gallian get a golden quacker though :D Still dislike him, even if he plays for Essex.

I'm lovin Hughes :) Not the first time in his career he has been the top scorer by miles. If he had a few more overs he could have made 100s in both inns yet again.

Godleman > Hughes. Confirmed.

Godleman made 82 from 85 whereas Hughes could only manage a measely 74 from 78. Hughes is rubbish tbh :p.

Essex dominating proceedings against West Indies as well. Bowled them out for 146 with that man Shiv Chanderpaul being the only one to really get going, making 66*, Chambers picked up 4/62. Now Essex are batting again, with Alastair Cook 74* and stand in skipper James Foster on 48*. Going well for both of them, hopefully they'll both make hundreds to really stake Foster's claim for an England place!
