I don't think so, I don't think you lot will be anywhere near the title, especially after being outplayed by Southampton at your place who have also lost most of their best players.

Losing Saurez has seen to that, the players brought in are not fit to lace his boots.

4th if your lucky

By the looks of it Man United aren't going to sort their shit out, so I see Liverpool, Spurs and Everton as the main threats for the top four and that's it. Title, nowhere near. Top four will be difficult too.

Also I wouldn't be confident of a world class striker coming in, partly because such a thing doesn't exist on the market. If they did they wouldn't move to Liverpool anyway.

I should have been more specific. 'Looking great actually' (if we added a quality striker and CM/DM) to finish fourth - one I'd take in a hearbeat. Nothing more. Top 3 looks locked in.

Honestly without proper investment on a DM or striker I can see Arsenal dropping to fourth.

It's never so straightforward that the better teams finish ahead of each other and often it comes down to fine margin. So I think if Liverpool (or Everton) get the job done they could finish third as well.

you've not lived up to your promises in signing a top class full back. Debuchy is solid but Gibbs and him are the full backs of a team that isn't going to offer much in the wide positions. what happened to signing Aurier?

it's obviously between chelsea and city this year, the rest will be very reliant on the form of key players to sort them out.

I'm happy with the full-backs. Debuchy has had a great start and he will be a great signing, offers so much more than Sagna going forward.

Aurier doesn't have experience in the league, his defensive quality is unknown and he is off to the AFCON this season. Debuchy was the better signing.

Gibbs needs to improve his attacking ability and needs to stay away from the injuries. I suspect this could be his last chance to push on. Monreal is awful as well.

If we get in a CF and a CM we will challenge for the title no doubt, if we don't it's fourth place again. Even a small upgrade up front would be enough to improve us and give us an outside chance, at this stage we would have to hope that Di Maria heads to PSG and we have a shot at Cavani but really that is pipe dream stuff tbh at the fee he'd go for. Other than that there is really no-one available who is more than just an upgrade. While Carvalho is my preferred CM, Khedira or Schneiderlin would do too.

A CB is looking like happening though which is good, Manolas or Reid looking the most likely targets. Reid would be a great signing, Manolas decent.

.

Eleven days to go - that's a long time and Di Maria has asked to leave Real Madrid so unless there's something else we don't know about, his likely destination is Man Utd. That being said, we need to sign a lot of new players and we all know how that ends up. They take a season to gel so I think we can forget the title this season.

SS: Liverpool have agreed fee with AC Milan for Balotelli - £16m.

:lol Just see that on sky sports news, absolute crazy decision by Rogers, what is the bloody thinking behind this.?

Not that I'm complaining, the scousers are the one team in football I actually despise, so well done Rogers:thumbs

You've just destroyed your hopes of a top 4 finish.

Imagine thinking Balotelli is a terrible signing when you have Torres and Drogba (who is wayy past it) as backup to Costa...

At no point have i said either Torres or Drogba were good signings

However i would much rather be bringing Drogba off the bench than that overated Italian twat.

If I was a defender I would rather mark Balotelli than Drogba even the slightly older version of Drogba, and I bet most prem defenders would agree.

I'm as pessimistic as they come, but as things stand, I just don't see the top four changing from last year. Unless of course United crazily launch bids left, right and centre and pull off a Di Maria or a Vidal, we're looking good to stay top four. Balotelli is a good signing, no two ways about that. Especially considering the market where Shane Long cost 12m and Adam Lallana cost us 23m ffs. Someone like Bony (who absolutely doesn't fit our style of play) would have been a terrible signing, not Mario.[DOUBLEPOST=1408701592][/DOUBLEPOST]

He's got 30 goals in 54 apps in one of the most defensive leagues in the world. How the hell is he overrated? If you were citing the baggage he brings with him, I'd agree with you. To question his talent is ridiculous though.

that overated Italian twat.
I won't go that far since, Arsenal, Chelsea and even Real had bit of interest on signing him, he has a great goal scoring record in a very good Serie A league. And to get him on a deal worth around 16 mil is just a bargain in my opinion.

is Reus heading over to *Liverpool as well?
Nah, he will move to a club, but it won't happen this year.
