Euro 2008 Qualifiers

Yep.1-1.Major stress on Donadoni...I personally thinik they should have gone with someone a little more experienced, signed Dona on as so he could learn a bit more.

Germany hammer San Marino 13-0 and almost all the German players scored :) Prince Podolski scored 4 goals and Lehmann was about to score the last penalty but then left it for Schneider because he wanted to play fair and not humiliate San Marino, who were down and destroyed.

France won against Italy with 3-1. Talk about revenge. It was a nice match to see.

Northern Ireland beat Spain with 3-2. (It costed me some vCash. :mad )

Finland drew with Portugal with 1-1.

And I actually followed the San Marino vs Germany match a bit during the zapping.

We had a tough game last night, but we came through in the end.

Lampard did one thing all game and that was to set up the goal, with a bit of good fortune in the way aswell.

Crouch should've had a penalty, most obvious shirt pull in this history of Football! :D

Crouch 11 in 14 games!

France were brilliant. and Crouch just keeps on banging them in. May be we should make England play Faroe Islands so that he scores a dozen and gets ever so close to Bobby Charlton.

I have to say chappies, those San Marino chappies are good players.

England got the three points, that is the main thing.

FRaNce!!!!!!!!!
Hip hip Hooray!!!!
got the revenge............... :happy :happy :happy

Losing and conceding three goals to Northern Ireland is one of the most embarassing things to happen to Spanish football

You obviously didn't see Simunich tackle Viduka in the world cup then?
Anyway, great to see Farnce win,and great to see Thierry and Van Persie scoring.Hopefully they'll bring that into the match this weekend.

Coach Joachim Loew has called up three untried players to Germany's squad for next month's matches against Georgia and Slovakia.
Hamburg SV playmaker Piotr Trochowski, Alemannia Aachen forward Jan Schlaudraff and Werder Bremen defender Clemens Fritz make up the trio of uncapped outfield players in the squad announced on Friday.

Germany are top of Euro 2008 qualifying group D after beating Ireland and San Marino in their two games so far.

They have a friendly against Georgia in Rostock on October 7 before playing their third qualifying match away to Slovakia on October 11.

Loew also called up Robert Enke, the 29-year-old Hanover 96 goalkeeper, for the first of the two games. Enke was in the squad for the Confederations Cup in 1999 in Mexico but has yet to play for Germany.

Missing from the squad are Gerald Asamoah, who suffered a compound leg fracture in Schalke 04's Uefa Cup defeat by Nancy on Thursday, and Werder Bremen pair Tim Borowski and Per Mertesacker.

Midfielder Borowski injured his left leg in Werder's 1-1 draw with Barcelona on Wednesday.

Centre-back Mertesacker made his comeback from a heel injury in that match but club coach Thomas Schaaf asked that he be given more time to complete his recovery.

Christoph Metzelder, Sebastian Kehl, Jens Nowotny, Robert Huth und Sebastian Deisler were also ruled out because of long standing injury problems.

Loew stepped up from the assistant's role to replace Juergen Klinsmann following Germany's third-place finish at the World Cup in Germany.

Goalkeepers: Robert Enke (Hanover 96), Timo Hildebrand (VfB Stuttgart), Jens Lehmann (Arsenal, England)

Defenders: Malik Fathi (Hertha Berlin), Arne Friedrich (Hertha Berlin), Manuel Friedrich (Mainz), Clemens Fritz (Werder Bremen), Marcell Jansen (Borussia Moenchengladbach), Philipp Lahm (Bayern Munich), Alexander Madlung (VfL Wolfsburg)

Midfielders: Michael Ballack (Chelsea, England), Torsten Frings (Werder Bremen), Thomas Hitzlsperger (VfB Stuttgart), David Odonkor (Real Betis, Spain), Bernd Schneider (Bayer Leverkusen), Bastian Schweinsteiger (Bayern Munich), Piotr Trochowski (Hamburg SV)

Forwards: Mike Hanke (VfL Wolfsburg), Miroslav Klose (Werder Bremen), Oliver Neuville (Borussia Moenchengladbach), Lukas Podolski (Bayern Munich), Jan Schlaudraff (Alemannia Aachen)

Congratulations must go to Scotland who beat France today 1-0. :cheers

Not such a good day for England who drew 0-0 with Macedonia or for the Republic of Ireland who lost 5-2 in Cyprus or Wales who were hammered 5-1 at home by Slovakia.

Northern Ireland also drew away to Denmark.

Big wins elsewhere for the Czech Republic and Croatia who won 7-0 and 6-0 respectivley.

I said Scotland would win didn't I. :p

I'm very disapointed with Wales; They had no passion, no desire, no belief and in the end, no heart.

Scotland played brilliantly, I don't really know how England played because I was busy watching the Scotland game. Now i'm no Scot, but I got goosebumps when that final whistle went as I felt the pride of a whole nation after such a fantastic result.
