FFX:West Coast Eagles A Younger generation

News has broken out today that the West Coast Eagles have sacked coach John Worsfold as they felt John was living in the past and wasnt looking to play any young players. Former Richmond coach Terry Wallace has taken over at the Eagles and is expecting a 2-3 year contract in the next week. Wallace spoke to the media early this morning and said he is looking to play the young players at Subiaco and play more experienced players at away games. The Eagles will be playing the Brisbane Lions in their first match of the pre-season competition. West Coast will be looking to play their number 1 draft pick Nic Naitanui. Brisbane will be led under new coach Michael Voss and he will be looking to upset the Eagles at home.


Terry admitted that the Eagles have been reliying on Cox and Kerr alot but insists that it will change this season and players like Ebert and Masten will have to stand up. When reporters asked Terry if he thought the Eagles could make the finals this year Terry replied with "Why not" although he didnt sound extremely confident the fans need to understand it will take atleast a couple of years for the younger players to stand up


When Darren Glass was asked if he felt that the appointment of Terry Wallace was a good thing Darren Glass said that he thinks the appointment of Terry was good although he wishes former coach John Worsfold was still at the club.

West Coast will announce their team for the upcomming match against against the Brisbane Lions

Good start to the story, and also make sure Wallace spends hours at training teaching young Naitanui to bounce the footy under pressure.:cool:

Good to see that they arent gonna rely on Big Cox. Give Big Cox a break and let Naitanui get in the action. :

Qauter 1​

The first qauter started with the Eagles missing some easy opportunities in front of goal. The first goal for the eagles came from Daniel Kerr who kicked a buety from 50. Half way through the first qauter the eagles were off to a fligher giving themselves a 33 point lead over a wasteful Brisbane Lions. Brad Ebert was poor infront of goals in the Qauter for the Eagles missing two easy opportunities. With three minutes to go in the qauter Quinten Lynch got the eagles sixth goal and his second. The Qauter ended with the Eagles leading by 41 points but they will know they have missed some fairly straight forward oppurtunities.Brisbane will be looking to improve alot in the next 3 qauters.

Qauter 2​

Brisbane started the 2nd qauter alot better than the first scoring 2 goals in 3 minutes.Brisbane wern't holding back scoring another goal to reduce the margin to 24 points.West Coast continued to to miss shots infront of goal.Daniel Kerr continued to gather possesions while Andrew Embely struggled to touch the ball. Chris Masten and Adam Selwood both scored goals for the Eagles to get keep them in a strong position. With 5 minutes to go in the qauter Mark Lecras got his 3rd goal from a set shot 30 meters out from goal. Brisbane kept pushing the Eagles when they got their 7th goal of the qauter. In the Qauter the eagles were out score 7 goals to 4 and saw their lead reduced to 27 points.

Qauter 3​

Mark Lecras started the 3rd qauter of brilliantly for the Eagles scoring a goal in the 1st minute. Eagles have been dominating the inside 50's 33-22 but some signs were showing that the Lions were getting the ball inside their 50 faster.Brad Ebert continued his poor kicking registering his third point for the game. Soon after that Bradshaw kicked his 2nd goal and reduced the margin to 26 points. Brisbane will need to get the lead reduced to atleast 15 points at the last break.With four minutes to go the lead was reduced to 14 points and the Lions on a high. But not long after the goal Lecras like he had done before in the match scored a goal right after.30 seconds later and Lecras scored his 6th for the day and the lead was 26 points in no time.Both teams in that qauter booted 3 goals

Qauter 4​

Travis Johnstone for Brisbane got the early goal wich im sure Michael Voss would be hoping that it would kick them into gear.The Eagles kept hitting back though with Mark Lecras booting his 7th goal.The Eagles kept controlling the inside fifty count and the disposal count.Brisbane couldnt get a roll on with the Eagles eventually winning by 36 points with an innacurate 2 goals and 6 points last qauter.Terry Wallace will be very happy with him teams performance.

Good start, Spaga, but I think your spelling could do with a little bit of work. It is a sound start story wise, and I'm not meaning to be rude here.. but
