Club Captain
In 2008, the West Coast Eagles football club recorded it's worst season in it's proud 21 year history. The Eagles were hit hard after the losses of skipper Chris Judd to Carlton, and the spiritual leader in Ben Cousins, not to mention Daniel Chick, Rowan Jones and Drew Banfield.
The Eagles are now led by the highly capable Darren Glass, once All-Australian Full-Back, with Tyson Stenglien, Dean Cox, Ashley Hansen and Matthew Priddis joining him in the leadership group.
The young inclusions of Ben McKinley, Josh Kennedy, Brad Ebert, Chris Masten, Scott Selwood, while being a revelation to the club, have not been able to replace those before them, at least not yet anyway, and thus saw West Coast slump to 15th spot on the 2008 ladder.
But among these changes comes the most drastic of all, the replacement of premiership coach John Worsfold with young, handsome Jesse McLure from Bunbury.

But the most exciting new recruit for the Eagles by far was number 2 draft pick Nicholas Naitanui, the young but tall and athletic key position player originating from Fiji, and one of the most impressive players at the Draft Camp by far.
Naitanui is a big part of West Coast's future.
But enough talking, it's time to start season 2009.
