FOOTBALL Fifa 13 PC and Consoles

Tried the demo out, really enjoyed it,

Felt exactly the same to me as the last 2-3 editions of the game, did not feel overwhelmed at all,

1 thing, how do you make your keeper dive in penalty shoot out?.he just stands there no matter what I try

I use custom controls, pro evo buttons if that makes any difference

Use the sticks, Luke. ;)

Not sure which one, but one of them definitely makes the keeper dive.

Great game, I am thoroughly enjoying it. And I've got the ESPN presentation as well - when Origin asked me which language I wanted, I turned down English(GB) and chose English(US). Sounds far too simple I know, but it must make a difference because there are plenty of people over at Soccergaming looking for 'unofficial' ways round the issue - they didn't have it by default. :)

It'll be tougher in an online match with people trying to beat your defenders and such. Yeah it's exactly the same pretty much as FIFA 12.

Played the demo for a good couple of hours today

How much different is the full game compared to the demo..

Really enjoyed the demo, probably the closest I've come to real football and easily the best FIFA I have played

Scored 2 crackers in one game, second one was on the counter as Arsenal pressed for a winner in the last 5 mins, manged to break away with silva dinking the ball just over the last man as he tried desperately to head away,

Aguero without needing a touch hits it first time half volley from 20-25 yards into the far corner,, reminded me of the good old pes days

If anything, the full game is of a slightly slower pace than the demo, but if you're playing offline, you can pretty much tailor it to your exact preferences using the sliders. :)

EA have really come good with this one. :)

Edit: There's even a lot to do outside the actual footballing action - the skill games, once you've got to Gold or beyond, become timesinks all by themselves and they will also make you a better Fifa player. After bronze level, they're all set to manual and they make use of all of Fifa's controls including skill moves, lobs, chips, different kinds of shots and crosses - they're a fantastic addition.

Even Player Career is worth looking at now! :)

Has anyone got International management going? I'm still waiting for that offer from Spain. :D

South Africa and Venezuela are sniffing around. Ahahahaha - I'm not going there, that'll be so boring.... :D

Switzerland and Scotland now, that's more like it - at least they're European teams. Can I manage the Scotties though... ;)

I've got until January to decide (game time of course. ;) )

I hope I get offered France and get the opportunity to finally win them something.

@MB: How do you find the skill games? They are so bloody hard, I've only unlocked the skill challenge for short passing and shooting, and both are near impossible to complete.

I was offered (and accepted) the Poland job after just 10 games into my first season as Norwich manager.

Didn't start well. 0-0 draw with Northern Ireland in my first game and then I was 2-0 up against Italy in Rome only to draw 2-2.

They're very tough, but you don't get better unless you work hard, eh? That applies to pretty much anything in life. They're locked to manual - which might not be to everyone's taste, but manual is the only way to play Fifa for me. :)

Maybe some other jobs will pop up between now and January, but if not I'll probably pick one or the other - Switzerland especially aren't too bad a team.

Yeah I enjoy a challenge, but stringing together 200-300 passes on manual is incredibly tough to complete the short passes skill challenge. That'd be impossible for me without manual too.

Switzerland, bah, all I can think of is Djourou:facepalm.

Some nice midfielders though, Shaqiri and Frei too.

When you manage an international team, do you play as them?

I haven't went out of my way with the skills games really, just the odd one while the match loads up.
