FOOTBALL Fifa 13 PC and Consoles

Just getting to see how much better career mode is this year.

It's now February in my first season in charge at Norwich. I've done particularly well with Steve Morison, who has scored 11 league goals. West Brom bid for him in January and I put back a counter offer which they accepted and off he went.

I then get several media reports about how upset the fans are that they've lost their star striker and the commentators talk about it in the game too. I end up using the money to buy Steven Naismith from Everton and there's a lot of attention to his debut as well.

It's little things like that that make the mode much more enjoyable. In terms of my management of Poland, so far the results have been:

Poland 0-0 Northern Ireland (friendly)
Italy 2-2 Poland (friendly)
Switzerland 2-2 Poland (World Championship qualifier)
Poland 2-2 Republic of Ireland (World Championship qualifier)

So the 2-2 is pretty popular in Warsaw it seems.

Do you still get offers from other nations while managing say Poland?

----------

Just got an offer from the United States FA, tempted I am.

Got FIFA today will be on it in about an hour, ps3 by the way,

So would do you guys recommend, online, offline and what game modes?.

I would like to be Chelsea and play as them and have the ability to not just manage them but to play the games also, if that makes sense, assume its possible.!

I don't think so. I haven't anyway. You can get offered other club jobs though, I was offered the Spurs job and turned it down to stay with Norwich.

Manager mode is your best bet, you can do everything with the club AND play as them for as long as you like. ;)

Yeah that was a good move it's a backwards step anyway:p.

Going to start my Arsenal career tonight. I've been getting bored of UT since it seems a bit too easy for my liking, everyone has no idea what chemistry is or can't play properly.

Played some clubs yesterday, it's pretty fun as well.

Yo don, say you don't use up all your transfer budget(I've got 15 odd million left over), does it carry over to the next season?

Provided you don't want to go past fifteen seasons of course. ;)

Regarding Career Mode, have you guys noticed the in game commentary mentioning what's going on in your CM? Rooney was on a really long goal drought, the CM popups picked it up, but the CM commentary didn't mention it at all. Neither did they mention it when Anderson refused to sign an extension and neither did they mention it when Rooney finally broke the drought. It also didn't mention when De Rossi got his first goal for the club. Seems to me that the feature only works properly with 'Matchday' - in other words, matches outside of CM. A massive missed opportunity by EA in my opinion if that is indeed the case.

For me somethings have popped up in commentary and some haven't. I think it was Clichy, he asked for a wage boost and just straight up denied my offer(I offered what the Executive suggested btw) citing something ridiculous like 'his time at the club is a limited one', the CM commentary picked up on that. A example of it not working, Gotze's debut goal.

----------

Players with higher stamina are supposed to have more energy right? Tevez has got 90 odd stamina and I don't think I've completed a single game with him. At first I overlooked it because of Tevez's default work rate(high attacking and high defensive), but it's not that, I gave him low defensive and high attacking and he still managed to die mid game.

It did in FIFA 12, I would assume so in FIFA 13 as well:).

Really disappointing if that doesn't happen, that feature seemed tailor made for CM, not just Match Day...

Bloody hell though, United with De Rossi:eek:.

I'm sure you used him in UT, his deterioration was definitely due to the work rates. It can't possibly be anything else as he's slower than Aguero and not that acrobatic. Are you sure you changed his work rates properly? I can't see any other reason why the problem would come. In the past I haven't adjusted work rates properly a couple of times.

You're Man City though, let's not forget. Flog him and bring in Falcao:p.

Well, he sure as hell fixed their midfield problems. ;)

kerplucking hell, it was that, I had actually left it on default. :lol

I'm actually down a striker atm(got this beast offer from Inter for Dzeko, had to sell him). I don't know if it's just me or what, but damn, City have 'too' much money, too much to the point where it gets boring.

To be quite honest, I'm kind of thinking about starting a career with Dortmund, their squads good all round, but not stacked like say Real or City. It definitely has some longevity to it as well, at least I think, bringing back Kagawa and Sahin with the budget they've got could take a while. :p

Assuming you're using 4-2-3-1, surely Tevez, Aguero and Balotelli is enough? Plus you can bring in Guidetti if needed too. I see just one striker spot there, as Silva, Gotze and Nasri can easily play behind the striker.

City definitely have too much money. Hell, I reckon Arsenal has too much money. Especially if you sell half your team like I do.

You should go on strict board difficulty so that you only get 60% of transfer fees added to your budget.

I did a couple of seasons of Dortmund just before FIFA 13 came out, really fun team. I actually felt they had a lot of money too. I had a really good team which is hardly something you can build with a small budget. I was on legendary board difficulty too.

It's quite easy to get a lot of money if you have some good players as usually Man City will come in and offer ridiculous amounts for your players. I got offered something like 50 m for Hummels from them and got offered something like 60 m for Gotze from Bayern, but he rejected.

Plus now they've got Reus instead of Kagawa who is much better. He's pretty much the best player in the league lol in FIFA. Gundogan is also rightfully a beast now.

I'd go with a team notorious for having a small budget with strict board difficulty if you really want a challenge, say Swansea or something.

I've not noticed. Sometimes the camera will focus on a player in the line-up before the game and the commentators will mention that he's playing despite handing in a transfer request, only just back from injury, a new signing, etc. Then during the match they will talk about other things, like yesterday after I had sold Steve Morison they started talking about that while a graphic came up with his name and photo on it. They've also been talking about my FA Cup chances.

Are you on Martin Tyler and Alan Smith as commentators? That's the only thing I can think of, I don't think Clive Tyldesley and Andy Townsend have recorded stuff like that.

I do think there's a bug in the commentary though that Alan Smith will say how bad he thinks the keeper has been in almost every match. I could be winning 4-1 and he'll be moaning about John Ruddy.

Yeah, that thing when they focus on a player in the lineup was in Fifa 12, I mean when a photo of the player appears under the scoreboard, then they say something about him. I've not had much of that at all - but I've had a read around and several other people are getting CM commentary about goal droughts etc. Weird.
