Final: Australia vs New Zealand

Australia are going to win it
But i think that NZ can have a chance if Taylor and MY IDOL McCullum fire!

Australia must start the match as faviurites.

Butttttttt, considering the history of Champions Trophy you just cant rule out New Zealand. This is one tournament where we can expect the unexpected.

I'm sure Australia are going to come very hard at the depleted NZ side contrary to what Danny Vettori would have liked.
I'm not sure if Dan is 100% fit as well.
NZ has to squeeze in Scotty Styris in place of Jimmy Franklin rather than Aaron Redmond to strengthen their batting and try to get 10 overs between Styris and Elliott.
Having said that,Shane Bond will be expected to raise his game to the next level against the Aussies and we have history in the making here as no team has won the C.T. twice yet.

NZ has done extremely well to reach the final, but the mighty Aussies are simply going to run through them with out much difficulty.

You said we were going to lose to Sri Lanka, so I'm happy that you don't rate us again.

Apparently Scott Styris is just over their as cover, so he won't play unless their is an injury.
Even if he could play you wouldn't drop James Franklin, you would drop useless Neil Broom who is pretty much a nothing.
What is the point on playing a specialist batsmen, if you have no faith in him to bat in the top six!!!
:brickwall Is what the NZ selectors should be doing.

Neil Broom seems to be copping a lot of flack for really doing nothing wrong. He's played 12 games so far in his international career and I can think of 3-4 innings where he's had a chance to come in and get a start, every other time he's had to go after the bowling pretty much from the start. Yes maybe Styris would be the better option but he isn't going to do any better coming in at 6-7 is he. Vettori decided to move himself up the order because he's probably the better batsmen and he's going to handle the spin a lot better then Broom.

I'd have thought Broom would be more adept at using the sweep though...............I'm sorry :p

Edit for Howsie:

Come on you Kiwis! Elliot's a star, McCullum's going to blast a hundred, Taylor is one of the best batsmen in the world, Bond's going to rip through Australia, Vettori's one of the greats of the game and NZ are the best side in the world.

;)

You're correct about it being sarcasm. Howsie asked me to slag off a few of the Kiwi players, as it worked with Elliot in the England game, so I did the opposite. Hopefully it'll work :p

Yes,aggreed,Aus seems to be favorites, but nothing can be said in cricket, anything can happen, i personally feel its 75(Aus)-25(NZ)

I really hope Australia win the toss.

God, I wish we could win a toss too mate. I think we've won maybe 2 of our last 15-20 tosses. It's been ridiculous and they were important tosses too - the fricken Ashes. Grrrr...

Edit: OK, I looked it up, it's 4 of the last 19 tosses have been won by Australia. Keep in mind we've won 2 of the last 3 so there was a run of 2 out of 16 in there.

Just looking at that data, it's funny (and kinda gay) how important the toss is in Tests in particular. England won 4 of the 5 in the Ashes, Australia won all 6 of 6 in the home and away Tests against SA last summer and last year in India they won 3 of the 4 against us and in India the toss is damn important. Has ANYONE ever bowled first in India? (OK I looked that up too, and 18 times in history in the 219 Tests on Indian soil has the team winning the toss bowled first - not as bad as I thought... BTW in the history of Test cricket the captains bat first about 74% of the time)

I heard a rumor that Jeetan Patel will come in for Neil Broom. I guess this decision is down to the fact that Australia have a perceived weakness against spin, tbh I would much rather have Broom in the team. I would hate for us to be a batsmen down if batting first.
