I tried to get parts whenever they went on sale.

CPU/Motherboard was about $350.
Ram was about $100
Power supply was about $50-80 (don't remember)

rest of the parts I already had from my old PC.

If I had to guess, I would say the other parts were about $300-400 I bought them so long ago I don't remember the exact cost

Just looked up my PC on my PC Part Picker. Less than £1000 now, although there's no availability for the graphics card. Even some of the stuff on the list I think I didn't buy in the end.

The SSD I use for gaming

The HDD I have because I use the PC as a Plex server, so I have a bunch of movies and tv shows on there

Well, Planning to pursue my master's in US or Canada in the next 1 year. That won't be an issue.

I updated my PC last year.

Code i9-10850K
Asus Z490-E motherboard
32 gb ram
Nvidia 1080 (This is from my old PC, haven't been able to get a new card. Might as well wait for the 4000 series)
240 gb SSD
2 TB m.2 SSD
2x8 TB HDD

Waited for the 4000 series but then saw it was actually crap, so instead got a used GeForce 3080 for half of the retail price. I think this PC should last me at least 7-8 years at least
