What FM do you play again Trev? 09?

How does your Wolves side look? Is this the save were you brought them to the PL or did you start a new one?

I play 07, 08 and 09 at the moment. This one is on 08. It's my 3rd season at Wolves, 4th in the game, and it is the same save where I took them from bottom of the Championship when I joined to promotion the next season.

Been a very tough start to the season though, much tougher than I imagined. Got creamed by Man City and Portsmouth 4-0, also lost to Sunderland 3-0 and Chelsea 5-2. There was another game in there but I can't remember who against.

Hopefully after that good win we can kick on, but I believe our next few games are against Arsenal and Liverpool. I think survival will be a great feat this season.

I found it pretty funny.

Anyway, I'll probably re-install FM09 tomorrow so I can get as much time as I can out of it till' FM10 arrives. Same with FIFA09, I'm getting my Nigerian monies worth.

I always buy Jermain Defoe on every save I do on Football Manager, just an awesome player for me. Here he is scoring a hat trick in just his second game for United.

Yeah I played him in my England manager save in the World Cup and he killed it. I don't remember how it finished - we either won the Final or lost in the Final. Either way - it was thanks to Defoe that we got that far!

Just started one with Wellington. I added Chris Greenacre and Paul Ifill to the club (kept Smeltz because he is gun). Anyway, here's how my friendly's have been so far.

vs YoungHeart (A) won 2-0, goals to McKain and Ifill
vs Waikato (A) won 2-1, goals to Greenacre and Smeltz. (They scored a late penalty in 90+6 minute)
vs Otago Utd (A) won 2-0, goals to Ifill and Smeltz
vs Hawkes Bay (A) lost 2-0.

I also signed Mark Milligan, former Sydney FC back for free. Offered him a higher wage than Adelaide. He got injured in his first match though against Hawkes Bay.

The pre season cup didn't go too well for me. Beat Sydney 3-0, lost to Central Coast 3-0 and lost to Queensland 1-0. Got off to a good start in the A-League though beating Newcastle 3-1 in the opening match. Draper scored twice and Gao Leilei scored 1. Newcastle's only goal was a Hearfield own goal. I was missing a few players as well to international duty, McKain, Smetz, Ifill, Lochhead, Paston, Christie, Bertos, Sigmund, Moss and Brown.

off to a pretty good start in the A-League. Sit in third place after 6 rounds. Queensland are in first and Central Coast are in second. Like I said before, I beat Newcastle 3-1. I then went to play Adelaide away from home. Was unlucky not to win, taking 60% of possession but I didn't put 1 shot on target. Finished 0-0. I lost to Perth 1-0 in the third round. Then lost again, 2-0 to Queensland. Then against all the odds, I beat Melbourne 2-0. Thwaite scored an own goal and then Ifill made it 2-0. It went from bad to worse for Thwaite who was sent off in the 76th minute. Was nearly unlucky though cause my computer came up with a message that it was about to restart so I turned off all the highlights and replays and quickly finished the match and then saved it and then it restarted. I then played Sydney at home and should have won. They were in last place and a late own goal from Popovic gave me a 2-1 win. Tim Brown scored the other goal. So that's my record so far.

Are you playing as Wellington? Seems like you are going pretty well.

Just wanted to ask. How heavy are guys on tactics? I mean do you put in where you want the corners and free kicks to go or are you very basic and just have the formation and the player runs? Generally I get pretty basic unless it is a really important game.

When I'm a lower league team I do everything including separate player instructions. I always take time at the start to make 4 tactics - Home, away, Need a goal and defending a lead (defending a lead is the most handy thing I have ever had as a lower league team).

I make slight adjustments for different games but I never save it and I always leave it at my core tactic unless I'm playing say a 4-3-1-2 and it's massive fail so I want to play a 4-2-3-1 etc.

Yesterday I was offered the Australian job and I accepted it. I've been managing Volendam (second division Dutch team) for three seasons (just starting my fourth) and it has been my first job so I was shocked to see me offered the job. I'm expected to get to the World Cup and with the way my qualification has started I should do that. I'm playing on 06 and currently it is about halfway through 2008 which is the longest I've ever played an save.

I'm obsessed with FM again and I'm loving it!
