Lol, the point of a challenge isn't to put them into tier 11 to make it easier - it's to keep them where they are but try to still win it. Keep this save going - then after a few years when you're youths have developed either;

a) all youth products
b) all English

If you do it from the start you'll probably get sacked because it'll be hard to get results.

Umm, are you joking. I will never get sacked because I will use the editor to raise my reputation and then I will make all my players really good and then I will use some scouts to find the best youth players and if I lose a single game I will re-load it from before the game and play it over and over until I win and this is really fun.

Another option is to try not using player and staff search. That's what I'm doing in my current liverpool game. Only use your scouts and job adverts - they're there for a reason.

15 games in, in all competitions and I'm unbeaten. 10 games in the league and I'm currently first - beat Chelsea 2-1 and drew with Arsenal 0-0 and United 2-2. Just beat Arsenal on pens in the 4th round of the League Cup and I'm 2nd after 3 CL games. Not going the best there - 2 draws and 1 win.

I signed Trezeguet cheap and he came in when Torres was injured and scored 5 in 5. Very successful. Then he got injured... but Torres is back now (Y)

I don't use the staff search anyway. I just sign the staff I get recommended if I need any and I use my scout for a lot of players and I normally only use the player search to see who is on the transfer list.

Yeah I tried one of those LLaMa challenges on another forum, got bored half way through the season haha. I could only use adverts to find staff, I could only use scouts to find players but I couldn't search for them. I had to start on automatic reputation and start from the very bottom (Elgin in Scotland). I was doing really well but I can't find it interesting unless I'm using top players.

I like playing with lower league players. My AFC Liverpool save as been heaps fun. When I get FM11 I'm going to do a LLM type save I think from a newly promoted previously unplayable team in BSN/BSS

Carlton Cox. Favourite lower league player. 18 year old midfielder (or some age like that). Plays for Aldershot but you can sign him for the lowest clubs in England for like 1,000 and he played for me at East Manchester as captain for 5 odd seasons before I moved to Crystal Palace.

ffs, I ALWAYS draw Arsenal in cups. And if it's not Arsenal it's usually United. Drew Arsenal in the 4th round of the Carling Cup and just drew them in the FA Cup 3rd round. Used to always get them in 08. I luckily beat them on pens in the Carling Cup, but our form has been inconsistent recently so not sure how we'll go in the FA cup against them.

Got FM10 and started a season with Chelsea. Bought some young guns in Ozil and Jerome Boateng and so far the season is going good. Won the Community Shield Final 3-2 against Man U in which Ozil scored his first goal for us. Won the first two game of EPL also.

In my first season at Liverpool I finished with 89 points, 2 behind Chelsea. In my second season I tallied 82 and won the league - 2 above Chelsea! Forza Matt!

To top it all my main player Beckham got injured.

lol 10. Isn't he there in yours? I bought him very cheap and he's making a mockery of his price tag now. Scoring in every other game.
