Football Transfers Thread

Marca are worse than the News of the world for spreading stories that have no relevance of truth, and thats some achievement! The lad said he is staying on ITV after the match. He just wants a new contract imo. He's staying, dont you worry.

Isn't agreeing terms with a player before the club allows them, tapping up, like Cashley did?

All I can say is....no one is worth 100 million pounds. Not even Ronaldo in his current form. (with all due respect to the Portuguese star)

I would lose a lot of respect for him if he leaves the best team in Europe for some Chelsea wannabees.

Chelsea wannabes?

Madrid were recruiting the world's top stars long before Chelsea fell into a large pool of oil money. They have a much riher history, are a bigger club and are champions of their league so how are they Chelsea wannabes?

Besides, I am sure Skater's respect is the most important thing for Ronaldo. Calling Madrid, anyone's wannabees is a complete joke as they are the benchmark as far as club football is concerned and were rightfully awarded the club of the century by FIFA.

Real Madrid rival Chelsea as a fake team IMO. If they spot a threat, they buy them. They always unsettle players that are doing well overseas, and they have no good old prawn sandwiches feel about them.

Chelsea wannabes wasn't right, they are a massive club and the only ones I feel that can compete with us in the world (not talking current on the pitch matters), with the possible exception of Barcelona. However, Fergie is right, they have no morals whatsoever. What they have come out and said is no better than tapping up. Its been the same before with Beckham and Van Nistelrooy. Madrid may be a bigger club than Barca, but I know which one I admire more.

Fiorentina seem to be on the verge of signing Barzagli from Palermo. This is what the lure of playing in the Champions League does. And with Ujfalusi gone, Prandelli is also looking to sign Oddo from AC Milan.

If you have the money to buy players, you players. Its a universal rule in Football and its not breaking any law. Real Madrid are rich, and can afford to buy the best, so they do exactly that. I dont think they care if their targets are getting unsettled. It might not be "moral" or "ethical" or but its "allowed". Besides this isnt social service or charity anyways, its Football.

I think I've covered the morals issue already.

United are big, but still not as big as Real Madrid. Even Barca arent as big as us. Real havent played clean when it has come to acquiring players from the olden days when we literally "stole" Di Stefano from Barcelona. Buts thats how it has been, and like I said before, as long as it permitted and legal, I dont see how you can blame the club.

AC Milan also havent been an ethical club but are the second biggest club in Europe, operating in a fashion similar to Madrid.

I really hope Chelsea get either Giovanni Do Santos or Sergio Ramos as they are the future of football.

Both would be great buys but only Dos Santos looks likely. There is no way Madrid are selling Ramos at this stage. And if I were in the Barca board, then one of the players I wouldnt consider offloading would surely be Dos Santos as he represents....like you said....the future of football.

But this actually is tapping up imo, and that is illegal. If we were to believe Marca, which I wouldn't do, then Ronaldo and Madrid have agreed personal terms without United knowing, that is tapping up. Obviously it might not be true, but saying what they have done is not on. It may not be illegal, but its immoral and the reputation of Madrid will go down rapidly in many people's eyes if they do this. To be the biggest club in the world, surely you've got to be respected. A lot of people are losing respect for Madrid.

I disagree about Milan being the second biggest club in Europe, but thats another story, so we won't go into that. I can't remember them doing something so long term as Madrid though, this has been going on since 2005.

Agree with what Fergie said about Madrid, every club has bad transfers and sometimes things get a bit messy but Madrid have no class and Barcelona are a far greater club.

Anyway as I was saying Phil, Joey Barton, James McFadden and Jimmy Bullard to united.

Robinho to Chelsea too, his agents come out and said it's happening, would be interesting.

A reliable source has informed Asenal Times that Nasri is now having a medical at Arsenal. It is not officially announced yet but strong rumours are circulating that the deal will now take place. It is also rumoured that the fee will be in the region of £11 million

:)

Yeah, but then we're not going to be able to afford Crouch and Savage. Its a shame, we're not going to be able to retain our trophy without these players.:noway
