Football Transfers Thread

Yeah, I'd probably say a right-back, then Brown can play at centre-back when required.

well Richards can play both well enough and I would just liek to buy him to wind up city fans really. btw if we do let Pique go it best not be for the reported 6 million, I reckon he can be the best defender in the world one day and in a few years time it will seem like nothing. I'd value himat 20 million but then I do think a lot of him, still wouldn't let go of him for anything less than 10 though.

I've heard a few rumors today off my friend involving Manchester United. If Pique does go then they will try and get Steven Taylor from Newcastle or Rafael Marquez from Barcelona both apparantely worth £10 million, but I don't expect Marquezto be that much.
Also, Ben Foster is likely to join West Brom on a season-long loan to solve their Goalkeeping crisis.
Finally Daniel De Rossi from Roma may join Manchester United during the summer for about £8 million to give Alex Ferguson more options in the midfield.

I wouldn't let Foster go to West Brom. VDS looked abit dodgy on occassion last season, especially his kicking, i'd stick VDS on the bench and use Foster as number 1. Or if they don't want to use Foster yet, bring in Robert Green. If I was in charge I wouldn't have VDS as my keeper, especially considering they have a much better option right under their nose.

Nope, we should keep hold of Foster, he's going to be a future England keeper.

Ronaldo better not leave the Premiership or i'll stab his sister. And not with my penis like I usually would.

DON'T GO CRISTIANO!!

Saying that though, Phil Neville's well better anyway.

Lol!

You didn't mention the second choice goalkeeper in Tomasz Kuszczak, who Alex Ferguson bought only 2 years ago from West Brom. Are you basically saying that he isn't good enough for Manchester United and should sell him? But also that raises the question, If Foster was good enough, then why isn't he now second choice?

Another rumor coming through the wire: Miguel Veloso, a defender from Sporting Lisbon, has hinted at a move to England with Manchester United, Newcastle and Arsenal all expressing interest in him. Here is the web page about it:http://www.skysports.com/story/0,19528,12874_3586774,00.html

Fosters not playing now because he's not registered for the champions league so Fergie's decided there's no point letting him play and keeping the goalies who could end up in the massive games stay on the bench without match practice.

Yeah, Fosters not eligible for the Champions League this season. Foster is our future keeper, of that I'm sure, but I'd say VDS for next season. Then after that Foster. I can't see Kuszcak ever becoming our first choice keeper, but he's a decent back-up.

West Brom are apparantly after Daniel Sturridge, the striker from Manchester City, on a season-long loan to boost their striking options.

Birmingham's Oliver Kapo has been linked with Wigan as Steve Bruce believe's that he needs him at Wigan to give him extra strength in the midfield.

Crewe Alexandra shot-stopping scarlet Owain Fon Willians is wanted by Blackburn and Middlesbrough according to Sky Sports. Here is the link to this story:http://www.skysports.com/story/0,19528,12874_3588811,00.html.

Finally back to West Brom, Zoltan Gera has said that he will stop at West Brom if they show their ambition to stay in the Premier League with the signing they bring in. He had been linked with Everton, Newcastle and Benfica.

I am saying that. Kuszczak's a decent keeper but he's not going to be the next number 1. He's a good enough back-up but he has nothing on Foster or VDS. Personally i'd have Foster as my number 1 for next season and use VDS as back-up. VDS' kicking has just got worse and worse, to the point that Ferguson stopped his players passing the ball back to him in a EPL game towards the end of the season. I'd love to see Foster playing regular football for the best team in the country, same with Carson, I'd much prefer him to either get a first team place at Liverpool or move permanently to Villa, he's too good a prospect to be left on the bench.

Liverpool have signed Phillip Degen from Dortmund. That MUST be the final piece of the jigsaw, they've turned the corner and next year IS their year:p.

well it sounds like nasri deal is nearly done and he is supposed to be finialising the deal today and undergoing the medical before he is officaly unveiled...with a number of sites confirming that news, with his fan site being one of them...he will be a great addition and another 2-3 signings like him and we are sorted
