Football Transfers Thread

You're clueless Shan. Stop re-iterating other people's posts in your own words and taking them as your own views. Delph doesn't deserve to be mentioned in the same sentence as Scholes. I live in Leeds, I've seen him play. He is incredibly average. He isn't capable of making it in a top four team. He couldn't make it in a mid table team.

The left sided midfielder is a good player. Although he might fail in England cos he is very, very lightweight. The little tinker of a striker is a bit more of a gamble, and an unknown.

well manure are spending a lot of money on relativley unknown players when i don't think they need to as their squad is great as it is...might just be replacements though...arsenal really need to catch a big fish which they haven't done for quite a while...a CB, DM/CM and maybe a winger (left) would be good enough for me but they need to be experienced e.g. in their mid-20s...

Wenger: I will not bankrupt Arsenal sport.co.uk
lol...you hardly spend a penny mate how do you expect to bankrupt them...lol

It was one bad ankle break that kept him out for a while. Other than that, he's been alright.

If Given goes to Man City, I think I will get the urge to start kicking things. I might even join the "We hate City" bandwagon. It's not even like they are doing any better than us. They are one place above us, ffs, which doesn't exactly back up Given's views that we are struggling on the field as they are in the same position. Also we have been in worse situations then this, before. Just the lure of money and that is it. I would prefer him to go to Arsenal, at least they are a real club and earned their way to the top, unlike City.

*Rant over*

To be fair to Given, he joined Newcastle in the hope of winning trophies, what's he won in the 7-8 years he's been there? Sweet FA. I can definitely see why he'd consider a move to City, they've got ambition, they're on the way up, they've got money to spend and already a fairly decent side in place. He would at least have a chance of winning something with them anyway, would you want to end your career with nothing to show but a few decent saves for a massively underachieving side?

City have the money to mount a challenge for titles. Its tough to predict when they will actually do it, but atleast they have the resources. Newcastle dont, and Given is not getting younger, so he needs to make a decision now.

Oy, I am ranting and I don't care if it makes sense ;) At least Harper is a good keeper as well, so we will not be left high and dry if Given does leave

I feel all this money will reck City with all the players who have been there from the start before all the money came.City will turn into a club with good players who will do the "One man show team."I think they will just survive relegation. Also they will lose quite a few first-teamers who are good because of all the new players so therefore the team will be left will people who no nothing about each other.

I reckon we would have a better chance than City at getting Given but I doubt Wenger even wants him and I'm pretty sure he won't be willing to shell out the money. Would be a great buy though. We need a world class keeper. A world class keeper would have saved a lot more shotd than Almunia has this season.

Bridge to City for 12 million, the MASSIVE signings have started.:)
