Football Transfers Thread

There used to be a time during the respective post season & january transfer windows that you could easily differentiate between the false and real transfer rumours.

These days you can't tell who and which site is telling the truth, which is sad thing for journalism trade currently.

Transfer news: Edinson Cavani 'talking to Real Madrid and Manchester City' | Manchester City News, Fixtures, Results, Transfers | Sky Sports

Ffs! Can't get a hold of Cavani, let's talk to his agent, can't get a hold of his agent, well, there's always mama Cavani ready to spit it out. :facepalm

Eh, don't get your hopes up, the ball is in his court and he is going to force Real to pay him a fortune, or he'll have Monaco pay him that fortune.

He'd have to be genuinely sad to go to United and I just don't think he is, the way all this has gone about tells me it's just another player using his former club or a club of his interest to get a bigger paycheck at his current club, text book Rooney.

If that happens then Ronaldo would never go for an English team .

Sad? He probably is; he probably wishes he never left - you've only got to look at his reaction after defeating us in the CL this season. If he's on his way, I can only see him coming to Old Trafford.

I highly doubt it, he's surrounded by some of the greatest players today and is playing some of the best football he's played ever. If he's sad through all that then he's definitely going to United, but to me, this is all just a public stunt to push his contract into the last year and get him some big Real money.

This makes a lot of sense to me:

Exclusive: Cristiano Ronaldo advised to stay at Real Madrid for further 18 months before making possible switch to Manchester United - European - Football - The Independent

Even in 18 months, he'll still have a good five years or so left in him.

That'd make sense yeah, he could push his contract down in hope of a big deal with Real, which if doesn't come he'd have United waiting with open arms and a big sign on-fee.

Now that I think about it, wouldn't United be competing with the same likes of Monaco over how big the sign on-fee actually is... but I guess that's where the "sadness" comes into it all, we'll see.

I'm glad you put 'sadness' in quote marks - I'd love to be as 'sad' as Ronaldo must be right now... :yes:yes

I put it in there because not a single cell in me buys his "sadness" crap...

No one with a ---- can be sad with her around. :p

Ummm... nope, I wouldn't have thought so. ;)

:lol:lol:lol:lol:lol

I'm doing that British thing of massively understating things again, aren't I? :D

Edit: I've got it: she's not 'putting out' for him. Wouldn't that make you sad? :D
