Manchester City refuse to meet ?54m buy-out clause for Edinson Cavani, say Napoli | Manchester City News, Fixtures, Results, Transfers | Sky Sports

One of many things that I just don't understand in football, why the hell are these players signing contracts with ridiculous and I mean ridiculous buy-out clauses? The same thing went down with Fernandinho and Shakhtar where he too had a ridiculous buy-out clause of ?40.5m, but at least they wanted to negotiate a deal out for the player... but Napoli here, outright -----.

Enjoy Real Madrid.

Yeah, they're compulsory in the Liga BBVA as far as I know.

you wouldn't be asking why would anyone sign a contract without a buy-out clause in england, and it's sort of the same thing.

That's from the Mirror unfortunately (or maybe fortunately).

Mignolet to Liverpool is official then. Fourth signing of the summer, following the signings of Kolo Toure, Luis Alberto and Aspas, but as things stand, he's pretty much the only guaranteed starter among the four.

Please stay Luis Suarez. :(
