Villa linked to Jermaine Jones in the Daily Mail. Anyone have a thought on that - I think he'd add some bite to midfield, though he is a bit of a yellow card machine.

He put in some cracking performances at Blackburn the other year.

Without wanting to buy into tired punditry cliches too strongly Villa are a pretty young side, especially in midfield. An experienced, gritty player would be a good addition to the squad.

Norwich need a defensive midfielder and some cover at centre back. We are really not far from a properly decent squad.

The defensive midfielder, for me, should be in the mould of Scott Parker. He does a great job of protecting the defence but also doesn't just boot it away when he makes a tackle, he'll look for a pass. Of course, we won't actually get Parker because Fulham are rivals. Someone like him.

We could try our luck with a loan move for Jack Rodwell too. That would be good.

Well, he's being wasted at City and as one of our young up and coming England players, I'd love to see him move elsewhere.
