Football Transfers Thread

I very much doubt he made any of those transfers.

He would've had a say, for the so called revolution abramovich bought out AVB for ?15m. Not ruling out the point, just saying it's improbable that AVB had to comply and endorse the transfer targets Chelsea have set forth prior to his appointment. Because otherwise he woulda been nothing but a costly sitting duck with a huge payroll.

Still no transfer action at Old Trafford...

Agree. But Patience seems to be harder to get than players for Moyes. A ridiculous run of games for United but things haven't gone right tho, and speaking of injuries, Moyes' insight seemed like he finally acknowledged the need for immediate upgrades for the squad. Also he seems to be backing down on his rigid training methods frowned upon by many players.

AVB has/will have done a lot of good things for both london clubs. If he stayed on at Chelsea he could've built a very dynamic and young squad. His transfer record is impressive given his tenure at Chelsea. Courtois, Mata, Romeu, Meireles (should've kept him), De bruyne, Lukaku and a couple more for the future. He Played Sturridge early on similar to how he's being played at Liverpool and got results for it.

Too bad his boldness is overlooked, both at Chelsea and Spurs. It hit back on him but if he had a patient owner (rarity) he could've done pretty well.

If the rumors are true and he becomes Milan's next manager, he'd inherit a very proper AVBesque (lol) squad to work on. I hope he does, and for a long time. He was judged too early which he didn't deserve.

I'm not sure about AVB to be honest. I think he was pretty poor at both chelsea and tottenham. his scattergun approach in the market has ultimately meant they've replaced one of the best players in the world with two or three half decent ones. who'd take that deal? it might not have been his fault in the market I guess but then on top of that his way of blaming fans, players, medical staff for all his woes, anyone but him basically, meant his position was untenable.

ok, maybe given time he could well have put together a good squad, but I don't think either chelsea or spurs were that wrong to sack him, it was a fair call. that's not a good repuation to leave, as a milan fan he'd be better than allegri and also seedorf who's tipped to come in. I'd rather montella or yakin though.

Milan would be fun to watch with Rami and Mexes playing in a high line.

Borussia Dortmund seeking answers from Ilkay Gundogan - ESPN FC

With Gundogan showing stalling over his new contract & Dortmund looking vulnerable to selling its best players now - if United can do deal in which they can send Kagawa back to Dortmund in exchange for Gundogan - that would be a brilliant deal.

Agreed. Kagawa just isn't fitting in at Utd - either Moyes doesn't like him, or he can't play in his proper position often enough. He was very poor vs Swansea, but then again so was the rest of the team.

Harry Kane could make Soldado sit on the bench. Which makes it even more ridiculous that Defoe isn't playing, he would be better in a front two as well.

Gundogan to United. That's a good one:lol.

Ha ye Don, all top players rumored going to United are a pipe dream really. But i'd say the Gundogan scenario only seems the most plausible of the lot, because of Kagawa and Dortmund looking shaky with the sale of Lewandowski.

Life after Koke maybe?

If you're looking shaky you don't sell one of your best players.

I feel Aubameyang is still a good replacement for Lewandowski. They can buy someone else as cover, like maybe Kagawa outright, but a swap deal is madness. Why would Gundogan agree to go to that circus?
