This league aims to cover the lost years of the USPC's cricketing history before they were finally given associate status by the ICC in late 2014, beginning with the very first cricket match played on it's shores in 1872, the formation of a national cricket team and cricketing body sometime during the latter part of the 19th century, it's subsequent rivalry with then powerful neighbors Canada and the United States of America stretching up to the start of the First World War, a brief resurgence in the 1930s & 1940s, and eventual decline due to various undisclosed reasons in the mid-late 20th century.
The year is 1872, and a team of English amateur cricketers led by Robert Allan Fitzgerald have embarked on an ambitious tour of North America. The touring party which includes some illustrious names such as WG Grace, Lord Harris and Albert "Monkey" Hornby among others, will be making stops in various cities such as Boston, Philadelphia, Montreal, Ottawa, and Toronto to play cricket matches against the local teams. They have also agreed to play three non first-class 3-day matches in St Pancras and Victoria, two cities located in the newly formed country of the United States of PlanetCricket (USPC). It is hoped their visit will prove educational for local players in the USPC and help improve the overall standards of cricket in a country which aims to someday compete with budding North American cricketing powers Canada and the United States of America on equal terms.
