FTP: From the Pavilion general chat

Ouch... That was ridiculous. FTP is hell bent on fried chickening my team this season.
End of over 49 (4 runs) - Blitzkreig Boyz(198-9). 13 runs required from 1 overs. RR 4.04 RRR 13.00
M. Kay 24 (33b), R. Elijzen 2 (5b) , J. Walsh 10-1-34-2
49.1 . Dunbar to Elijzen : That shot was almost reminiscent of Laurence Herring in the World Cup Final of Season 5. Unfortunately it's gone straight to Thambipillai instead of the boundary and there's no run!
49.2 4 Dunbar to Elijzen : Poor ball and savagely cut away by Elijzen. Caterer gives chase but never had a hope of hauling that in.
49.3 4 Dunbar to Elijzen : [misfield] Oh dear, what a mess! Steepling top edge down to fine leg, King decides to rush in and try to pull off the catch, but realises far too late that he can't get there and the ball ends up bouncing over his dive and away for four.
49.4 1 Dunbar to Elijzen : Rising delivery from Dunbar, played well by Elijzen up on his toes guiding it to Currie at fine leg for a single. 1 run.
49.5 1 Dunbar to Kay : Short ball, Kay mistimes the cut to the vacant cover region and it's only a single.
49.6 4 Dunbar to Elijzen : Short, wide and hammered away behind point by Elijzen. Terrible delivery and it got what it deserved.
End of over 50 (14 runs) - Blitzkreig Boyz(212-9) RR 4.24
R. Elijzen 15 (10b), M. Kay 25 (34b) , C. Dunbar 10-0-53-0

End of over 35 (6 runs) - champs united(151-8). 9 runs required from 15 overs. RR 4.31 RRR 0.60
M. Jadeja 5 (15b) , B. Milan 1 (1b) , O. Casey 8-0-39-4

34.5 W Casey to Collins : [Yorker] The stumps are demolished! Collins thrives on width, so it was good bowling by Casey to stick it in the blockhole.
K. Collins b. O. Casey 4 (7b 1x4 0x6) SR:57.14

Not in Hand but still chances to get it back...

Also just realised that Aidan O'Leary passed 4000 runs (well 4000 runs exactly) for the club last week. Hopefully he can reach 5000 runs by the end of next season.

And also am now 1st in Youth and One Day.

Who had it come up with "Happy Birthday Jdeus" on the screen when I first logged in??

Way to make me feel really old at 24! Thanks :D

:cheers

Ariyasiri Kalum needs only 169 runs to pass Leodegrance Elliot in the youth batting rankings.

It will have gone down the list. Just change the thread options to show those from the last year or whatever and older ones will show up. And happy birthday for the other day as well :p

Good close win as well in my T20 match today.

Situation after 16 overs:

End of over 16 (10 runs) - Hedger's Team(127-2). 59 runs required from 4 overs. RR 7.94 RRR 14.75
A. O'Leary 14 (12b), J. Pettinger 27 (17b) , H. Zubair 4-0-39-0

But then managed 48 runs off the next 3 overs, despite losing Pettinger in the 18th over for 43 but O'Leary took all the strike and got us over the line, as we managed 11 runs off the last over, winning on the final ball, O'Leary scoring a single.

End of over 20 (11 runs) - Hedger's Team(186-3) RR 9.30
R. Mol 3 (3b), A. O'Leary 54 (27b) , F. van Boxtel 4-0-45-0

Pretty disappointing bowling performance, with only Lansing bowling alright, taking 1/28 off his 4 overs, and Healy took 1/30 as well but apart from that, the rest were pretty expensive and went wicketless. Probably wasn't a great idea to play Goedhart. 4 overs, 0/56.

Despite our slow start, O'Leary and Pettinger helped get us over the line.

van der Hoeven (wk) - 35 (38)
Murch - 47 (32)
Pettinger - 43 (23)
O'Leary - 54* (27)
Mol - 3* (3)

van der Hoeven playing well, with his highest T20 score, although hasn't really got a huge amount of time in the middle, 10 matches, 7 innings, 3 not outs and played down the order when he does play so glad he made some runs at the top of the order. A decent keeper altogether though, at 19 years of age. Stats: (All catches as keeper)

2 OD matches, 2 innings, 4 runs @ 2, 1 catch
10 T20 matches, 7 innings, 3 no, 99 runs @ 24.75, SR 128.57, HS 35, 6 catches, 3 stumpings
46 Youth matches, 21 innings, 11 no, 533 runs @ 53.30, SR 125.71, HS 114, 76 catches, 6 stumpings

Already the most youth catches by a long way. Next best is Chetan with 60 catches although he played 6 less matches.

----------

Also, the funny thing is that Aidan O'Leary is the only player with over 1000 T20 runs in the club to have not scored a single T20 century, yet he's the highest scorer with 3231 runs. 7 players have managed over 1000 runs.

Interesting both FTP and Battrick are launhed/launching Affiliate Teams.

BTW how on earth do teams survive with such big wages? I'm taking they don't invest at all in academies as I will be going in the red with 50k academy and 140k wages.

Well I pay $112,660 in wages and now $72,000 in academies. And I made a $35,000 profit last week (although I got $20,000 from Omara being selected for U19 NAT duty) but normally on average, I'm breaking even. And got about $400,000 ($413,891 before this week)

137k wages and 51k academies for me. I'm normally around even, depending on home matches

That is pretty much my figures but I'm making a -40k loss with gate takings. The 2 div difference seems to make a sizable difference.

Pretty dominant performance with the bat, especially van der Hoeven given a chance to open the batting as we scored 336/6.

Omara 73 (57)
van der Hoeven 90 (94)
Peters 7 (5)
Crane 39 (25)
O'Keeffe 22 (11)
Curvers 60 (28)
Dysart 35* (23)
Harms 2* (2)
