I'm thinking of starting a casual cricket group in the Spring, but I'm in a non-cricketing country, so nobody in the group will have played before. I'm curious what cricket games played by novices tend to be like? Does it favor batting since the people bowling probably won't have very good accuracy?

It will be pretty even I imagine as batting without getting out is also a skill! In what country do you live if I might ask?

This is not looking good. There is no mention of Butt or Asif involved but they already have their name tainted once. What do you think guys?

Absolutely, they should have not made it this obvious. Also its pathetic and this rise of T20 leagues and T10 leagues should be criticized and banned. Also the boards need to be stricter.

Why banned? There's nothing wrong with legitimate leagues that take the necessary steps to prevent stuff like this. This was an illegal tournament that didn't even have the permission of the local cricket council, let alone the Emirates board.

I'm in the USA. At this point I'm just trying to get a sense of how feasible it would be to have a whole field full of novices playing tennis ball cricket. I'm hopeful, though! I really want to play.

There is actually quite a lot of cricket in the US. If you have someone who is able to guide people a little in how to bat and bowl with a little more technique it can be good fun. People need to feel safe and if you have someone chucking instead of bowling it can get painfull even with a tennis ball: start off slowly, heck, bowl underarm If need be! Good luck and keep us up to date with how it goes.

Since this wasn't approved by even the local cricket board. Does this comes in as a domestic t20 league? I consider this a street cricket league which has no board.
