Honestly this didn't reveal much, but the few things I could take away:
  • Alastair Cook doesn't do sixes
  • Brian Lara liked himself a boundary
  • Seems like everyone has between 45%-55%, no matter how aggressive or defensive they're remembered as
  • Shiv runs
I will probably do something similar with ODIs, where boundary hitting is a virtue, maybe that'll reveal more

Had a think about what an England squad might look like if all The Hundred players were unavailable. Based on those in the test squad without contracts, the recent Lions squad and a few others.

1 Jennings
2 Lees
3 Bohannon
4 Price
5 Rew
6 Foakes
7 Higgins
8 Aldridge
9 Robinson
10 Leach
11 Anderson

12 Bashir
13 Coles/Barnard
14 Miles/Norwell/Porter
15 Sibley/Hameed
16 Westley/Gubbins

Any thoughts from others what your side would look like minus players from the main T20 tournament?
Given you've already done England, let's have a crack at Australia.

10. :aus: :bwl: Chris Tremain
11. :aus: :bwl: Josh Hazlewood

Sort of the opposite problem to the South African side really

It's a bit generous to give them Green, Starc, Cummins and Hazlewood

I think its Radha not Ravi, I tried searching but couldn't find Ravi but found one Radha.

I did actually! QeA 2024: 482 runs @ 96.4, 2 tons and a fifty. Also he has previous experience. In the end Abid was chosen ahead of him cuz he has sustained decent form for longer
I think players who performed in the 6-team structure, and then kept on making runs in the current structure should be preferred. Have proven themselves against undiluted competition

There's no perfect criteria, even the previous QeA trophy inflates batsmen's stats cuz of how flat some of the pitches are

It's quite fitting that countries like India and Pakistan, with massive fanbases and talent, but who have boards filled with nepotism, corruption and politicisation, don't have much to show in terms of ICC trophies recently.
Meanwhile, teams like Australia, England and New Zealand, with smaller fanbases, but also less of those issues holding them back, have won a lot more in recent years.
