General Cricket Discussion

Ha ha! What I meant to say was the talent pool in the country is bigger and is stronger than the rest. The results might not have gone their way recently, on account of selection blunders, etc, but that doesnt mean they are poor. Still a force to reckon with- sharpen a few edges, drop the non-performers and you will be back to your winning ways again.
Oh yeah, absolutely. You guys have at minimum three (Padikkal, Sai Sudharsan, Varma) young players who I'd kill to have in Australia's team - not in your XI currently. Of course, you are 1-1-6 in your last 8...

Glad you mentioned Varma there. The more I watch him, I am convinced that Varma is the ideal foil in the Test setup. I hope India don't overplay him in T20s and spoil his game. Assuming that Agarkar Gambhir & Co, decide to move on from Rohit, Virat and Jadeja, the 3 names you mentioned above should get a look into the Test side in June.

I wouldn't bring all three in, tbh, because all three are best in the top three and Jaiswal should have an opener spot locked up for a long time. I'd play two of them - probably Padikkal and Varma, with Sai as backup - and give Sarfaraz one more shot

With the proposed structure its financially impossible for test cricket to survive in the Tier 2 league.

The Big 3 nations secure the most finances and attractive rights for visiting teams.

Yall really think India gonna be relegated to Tier 2? That’ll never be allowed to happen.

This only serves to destroy Test cricket in nations out of the Big 3. Even Tier 1 teams like SA, Pak, NZ gonna be severely affected.

Mark my words though the Evil ones will be defeated in the end.

Test cricket is dying and the death will come quicker if the Big3 have their way. I read about Kevin Pietersen making the same claim recently.

Sad thing is idiots claiming Test cricket in the present era is thriving!

In the 2000s the Australian team had like what 6 or 7 batsmen averaging well over 50, India probably like 4. Great bowlers too like Donald, Mcgrath and Warne.

What a tweaking joke the BGT weighs more than the Wisden trophy!
