General Questions Thread

I remember hearing Effine say once someone bids on your player you have that money in your finances. Well I have a bid on one of mine and my finances are still the say.

I think he might mean if you want to buy another player, that bid on your player gets added to what you have, but it actually only shows on your finances page when the transfer goes through. I'm not sure, but thats how I interpret it.

well, it isnt yours yet, but i think when you bid on some other player, you get to use that money as well (i guess, no proofs, just a hypothesis)

Lord Effykins Rare tips:

Pulling that non-lucky trainable yp...

Ofcourse you do know how to place ITS and pull but we have always thought that yps were lucky and were very hard to get someone good to train. You always need to be lucky to get a keeper or a batsman. Here i shall tell you how to get your own homegrown kiddo with the 35 ITS that you were handed...

Things required: A superb academy and 35 ITS

As you all know the crappiest 0 IT player that you can get is:

stamina: worthless wicket keeping: worthless
batting: worthless concentration: worthless
bowling: worthless consistency: worthless
fielding: worthless

And if you put the max ITS on a skill (12) eg: batting, you get

stamina: worthless wicket keeping: worthless
batting: mediocre concentration: worthless
bowling: worthless consistency: worthless
fielding: worthless

You would say

What a waste of 12 ITS

For a Yp 2.4 ITS increase one whole level of a skill for that skill i.e if you put 2.4 ITS on a worthless bat, it becomes abysmal and so on...

This is what you could do with 35 ITS

To get a Batsman:
stamina: 12, Batting: 12, Concentration: 5, Fielding: 6

To get a Bowler:
stamina: 12, Bowling: 12, Consistency: 5, Fielding: 6

You are guaranteed, even on the friday the 13th, that you can have a med/med/woef player with woef fielding

Crap isnt he?

lets say we give him:
Season 1: 2*primary, 1*stam, 1*field
Season 2: 2*primary, 1*field
Season 3: 1*primary

when he turns 20 he will be a Proficient/Superb/Strong with proficient fielding

And you called him crap...

Ok what about a keeper?

lets say:
stamina: 12, Batting: 12, Concentration: 5, Wicketkeeping: 6

He would be a min of med/med/woef with woeful keeping

lets say we train them like this:
Season 1: 2*batting, 1*stam, 1*Wk
Season 2: 2*batting, 1*Wk
Season 3: 1*batting, 1*Wk

He would be a Prof/Superb/Superb bat with high Prof keeping

Ah now the allrounder, the most difficult of them all, 35 ITS, difficult aint it?

lets say:
stamina: 12, Batting: 6, Bowling: 12, consistency: 5

he would be a min med/med/woef bowler with woeful batting [ how unfortuante ]

lets say we train them like this:
Season 1: 2*bowling, 1*batting, 1*stam, 1*field
Season 2: 2*bowling, 1*batting, 1*field
Season 3: 1*bowling, 1*batting,

He would be a prof/superb/strong with resp/resp batting and competant fielding...

all that these players cost you was 70k and not even a bit of luck...

Also, you could train them for as long as you want on their respective primary (batting or bowling) for as long as you want...

add this up with a little bit of luck...

You have your own home grown player...

This is how we do it...

Please dont have negative comments, I beg you...

Im assuming you just reverse the batsmen for a bowler

Brilliant stuff REPS!

yes because you wouldnt have as many ITS

edit: aussie beat me....

I couldn't give you a rep. :(

Wait, yes I could, I just remembered that I gave you one. :p

yes you did...

and btw, dont say that med/med/woef are crap trainees... that is the minimum you can get if you distribute ITS in that way, you can also get comps and resps with much higher stamina, C&C, Fielding and WK... but for that you need luck :p

Just to back up Voldy's post!

Eddie Samuel (932117)
RH Batsman, RF Bowler, respectable batting form, respectable bowling form, fresh
An attacking player with worthless leadership skills and abysmal experience.

Plays For: BFN Bombers
Nationality: South Africa
Age: 17 Years Old
Battrick Rating: 4,683
Wages: £1,101 p/w
Stamina: feeble Wicket Keeping: worthless
Batting: mediocre Concentration: worthless
Bowling: respectable Consistency: abysmal
Fielding: worthless

Samuel when I pulled him, midway through a season, 10 ITS on bowling, 10 stamina and 2 consistency. A week later he did pop to proficient bowling though.

And almost 2 and a half seasons later he stands as this

Eddie Samuel - 19 yo, BT Rating=31,572
RH Batsman, RF Bowler, mediocre batting form, mediocre bowling form, fair
An attacking player with worthless leadership skills and woeful experience.
Stamina: proficient Wicket Keeping: worthless
Batting: mediocre Concentration: feeble
Bowling: exceptional Consistency: proficient
Fielding: respectable

And as you saw above, other than his primary being high the rest wasn't all that great, but it just shows that with 3-4 nets and a little patients that you can get a really good player.

well done there max ... sameul has turned out to become an exceptional player :p

6th December 2006, pulled alshaun...

I wish i had given him some fielding nets when i was training him ... he could have had remarkable consistency or even higher :( oh well too late now...not training him furter in bowling jus giving him 2 fitness nets which again i shuld have given to him earlier
