General Questions Thread

If you are going single nets you have to have the commitment to leave that player on that net until 23.

Doug Rose - 17 yo, BT Rating=19,127
RH Batsman, RM Bowler, worthless batting form, mediocre bowling form, fatigued
An attacking player with mediocre leadership skills and abysmal experience.
Stamina: superb Wicket Keeping: strong
Batting: strong Concentration: competent
Bowling: worthless Consistency: woeful
Fielding: feeble

U-19 potential?

Well, it really depends what the other keepers look like. You're better off asking the ENG U19 manager, as he'll be keeping tabs on all of the keepers with decent potential.

He doesn't look bad at all, but his secondaries do need work for him to be in the running.

Not happy at all was expecting to come back from work ready for a YP. Now I have to do it in the morning!

Bloody irritating! I was hell keen, Ive never done one before!

Has anyone thought of avoiding the new 5% listing fee?
I was thinking, if you listed your played for 0 pound then bid on him for the desired amount that would by pass this fee wouldn't it? Now I don't know how much our success fee is but can't be close to 80k surely.

Right guys, by no means a new player but a bit of a dilemme I'd appreciete some advice on.

Below is a list of the players I want to train this season.

Mark Ludlam - 20 yo, BT Rating=91,087
RH Batsman, RFM Bowler, superb batting form, superb bowling form, sublime
A destructive player with strong leadership skills and abysmal experience.
Stamina: superb Wicket Keeping: woeful
Batting: superb Concentration: proficient
Bowling: exceptional Consistency: wonderful
Fielding: superb

I'd like to train Ludlam in both batting and bowling.

Nick Dodd - 20 yo, BT Rating=35,324
LH Batsman, LH Spin Bowler, superb batting form, superb bowling form, energetic
A cautious player with abysmal leadership skills and abysmal experience.
Stamina: respectable Wicket Keeping: worthless
Batting: worthless Concentration: abysmal
Bowling: wonderful Consistency: superb
Fielding: feeble

Would like to improve Dodd's bowling, stamina and consistency but bowling is the important one for now.

Julian Dlomo - 17 yo, BT Rating=5,263
RH Batsman, RM Bowler, mediocre batting form, competent bowling form, invigorated
A steady player with worthless leadership skills and abysmal experience.
Stamina: mediocre Wicket Keeping: woeful
Batting: competent Concentration: worthless
Bowling: respectable Consistency: mediocre
Fielding: worthless

Want to train him as an all-rounder.

Paul Muldowney - 17 yo, BT Rating=5,051
LH Batsman, LH Spin Bowler, respectable batting form, respectable bowling form, lively
A defensive player with woeful leadership skills and abysmal experience.
Stamina: mediocre Wicket Keeping: mediocre
Batting: respectable Concentration: woeful
Bowling: worthless Consistency: worthless
Fielding: worthless

Certainly training batting, would like keeping but I doubt I'll have the nets.

George Earle - 17 yo, BT Rating=9,648
RH Batsman, RM Bowler, respectable batting form, respectable bowling form, fresh
A cautious player with superb leadership skills and worthless experience.
Stamina: competent Wicket Keeping: worthless
Batting: respectable Concentration: respectable
Bowling: respectable Consistency: worthless
Fielding: worthless

Unsure of how to train (batter/allrounder).

The net allocation I'm thinking of at the moment is:

Earle - 2 bat, 1 bowl, 1 field
Dlomo - 1 bat, 1 bowl
Muldowney - 1 bat
Ludlam - 1 bat, 1 bowl
Dodd - 1 bowl

Hmm, in the SA sledging many of the managers are of the opinion that a bowling all-rounder is more effective and useful than a batting all-rounder. Now based on that thought process I'd suggest the following for nets.

Dodd - 1 bowl
Ludlam 1 bowl, 1 bat
Earle - 2 bat, 1 stam, 1 field
Dlomo - 1 bat, 1 bowl
Muldowney - 1

Trouble with that is, according to my calculations, his bowling could be as high as 7.97 (where 7 is respectable, 8 is proficient), which seems an awful waste.

Another option is to sell Muldowney in 39 days or whatever and give Earle 2 of each primary, plus a fielding.
