i don't get the problems with the morgan hate for him playing for england.

it's think differently if ireland had test status or even seemed very likely to get test status i suppose though.

I'll drop this digression soon, but I will at least get back to football. I think it's a tragedy that Gareth Bale (and Giggs before him) will never play with a competitive team at full international level (eg. World Cup tournament or even a Euros tourney). But that doesn't mean I'd want him/them playing for England, because that would simply be bogus. There has to be another solution - eg. Best of the Rest team - and the same goes for Morgan. Nothing to do with hate btw - what I'm saying is: it's just wrong.

yeh no point discussing is much further as the best/only conclusion would be agreeing to disagree. I don't really have a nationalistic/patriotic bone in my body, so i'm not going to see it that way ever.

Although i will say the football comparison is a bit of a false, those teams play in the qualifiers for the wc and euros (as ireland can play in the wc/icc torphy), which are basically preliminary forms of the same competition however test cricket is a completely different form of the game. It's as if the welsh side was only allowed to compete in 5-a-side, futsal or beach football competitions and not in full 11-a-side internationals.

Fabio Capello brought this up a couple of months before he left, particularly he was aiming at the Turks.

Bit ridiculous though, a lot of them are second or even third generation German, e.g. Ozil. Even if they are first generation, if they grew up or came to fame in Germany they have every right to see Germany as their true home.

Adding upon that there must be greed in a nation's FA to lure their foreign born players to play for them. Because there must be hundreds if not thousands of german footballers with turkish origin somehow who don't get bugged to play for the country of their origin. Only the best do. Turkey ended up cursing Ozil for choosing Germany over them.

Danny welbeck, another recent example. Michael Chopra WANTED to play for India because he couldn't make it to England, quiet the contrary. There should be a rule to choose a country if a footballer's a dual-citizen before the age of 18 so they don't get brain washed.

Hmmm..... Nobody watches Bundesliga? Its anyways much better than Serie A, and maybe even the Liga BBVA.

Not really(watching the Bundesliga), definitely something I want to do though, watch the other leagues at least from time to time ya' know.

Yep, was always going to be the case really, closest thing to FC Barcelona out there.

Would be interesting to see how Robben copes up with Pep's tiki-taka passing philosophy now...

The Bayern test will truly test pep's managerial skills, since the media has really overhyped him since he left barca as this god manager, when in fact he just was lucky to coach a great team. Thank goodness he didn't come to premiership and coach chelsea or city since the media pressure on would have been ridiculouls.
