Mumbai collapse from 132/1 to 253 all-out,
courtesy of the in-form Usman Shinwari.
He snatched four of the top-five of their lineup.

Mumbai would have been in a worse situation if not for
the recalled Daniel Hughes' strokeful 95 at the top.

Starc put on some useful runs down the order.
Khyber have a great chance here to end
at the top of Group B.

Fifties from Mohammad Haris & Yashasvi Jaiswal
go in vain as Mumbai clinch a thriller

to book their spot for the semi-finals.

Shardul Thakur provided the early breakthroughs
before Jaiswal and Sarfaraz steadied the ship.

Once again, it was on Haris's shoulder to take
Khyber through and he almost did it, batting
superbly with the lower-order.

KPK were having no trouble towards the end
but an inspired move from Mumbai
(more like cricksim)
to give the ball to Daniel Hughes worked wonders
as he took the final wicket and sealed the match.

Tom Latham scores a hundred as Glamorgan
end their tournament with a win.

Matthew Potts reduced Glamorgan to 19/2
before Rutherford and Carlson shared a 92-run stand.
Carlson, in particular, was really aggressive.

After both got dismissed, it was all Latham
showing his class as he put hundred-run partnerships
with Tom Cullen and then Andrew Salter.

Lineup:
  • Minimum one WK (:wk:) in your XI
  • Must have at least six bowling options (:ar:/:bwl:) {Even if you are playing only 5 capable bowlers, still pick a 6th bowler so I can rate properly and you don't end up with Daniel Hughes taking the final wicket with 6 runs remaining}
  • 3 overseas (:os:) players max

Pitch Type:
  • :left::up::down::right:(Balanced) - Equally good for batting and bowling
  • All knock-outs will be played on Balanced pitch as I want teams to field their best-XI.

Haris and Sangha give a solid finish to KPK!

One might question Pat Cummins' tactics to
not bowl Lyon when Todd Astle was being
taken apart by the opposition.

Conservative approach from KPK in the middle overs.
They put up just 138 in overs 11-40. (4.6 RPO)

Khyber made up for it towards the end,
thanks to captain Haris and Jason Sangha.
Aamer and Sarfaraz laid the foundation.

The law of averages got hold of Todd Astle
as he was highly expensive.
Everyone except him took a wicket.

NSW have a very strong top-4. If KPK is to win,
they will need to take those early wickets.

Target for NSW: 279 runs (Req. RPO = 5.58)
To Be Continued...

I think we did exceptionally well to recover after that early inroad. There should be no asterisks next to the quality Sarfaraz Khan brings to this side, but to see Aamer Azmat step up at such a crucial stage is such a pleasing sight for us and our team. Subliminal knocks from both top-order batters. As for Mohammad Haris, Kamran Ghulam and Jason Sangha... I think they did well enough to accelerate in the later part of the innings, even if they were up against quality bowling in the middle-overs.

As a Pakistani side, you can never be too sure of yourself. So IMHO, adopting a safety-first approach in the middle-overs was THE call to make. The last thing we would've wanted is a collapse of biblical proportions.

Seeing a target of 279 on board for NSW fills me with a great deal of confidence. I can only hope that it isn't misplaced.
