Good Bye India.

Don't just blame Pakistan, this goes both ways.

No it doesn't. When was the last time you saw an Indian celebrate the loss of Pakistan more than India's win (here) ? Like I said before, for some Pakis burning of India is their greatest joy hey but I love the extra attention :D

Well I don't know about here because I'm not on this forum that much, but I'm talking about overall. You can't tell me there aren't any indian fans that are happy when Pakistan is suffering. hint ICF.

India lost due to bad team selection and bad decision making by Mr.MS Dhoni, they should have gone all guns blazing after the 10th over instead they got out like new born ducks, afraid of losing their wicket, soo wicked!
Murali Vijay is a test batsman, he cracked some big scores in the IPL only in Chennai because that pitch was as flat as a glass(no swing, no spin) and now when he was required to play some big knocks he tried to save himself rather than going for it. He is very good for test matches, t20 is just not his thing.
When Sehwag got injured the inform match winner Robin Uthappa should have come in for Murali Vijay, Robbie plays the short ball brilliantly, he mad Brett Lee look like a fool when he smashed him for 24 runs in an over to change the match in just one over. He is a match winner surely but Mr.Srrikant wants to bring his Chennai boy Murali Vijay to convert t20 to a test match.

And Pyush Chawlan being chosen over Pragyan Ojha who was the highest wicket taker in the IPL.
I am very disappointed with the bad team selection as India never went into the t20 world cup with a match winning team.:facepalm

Moreover Robin Uthappa is not even in the ODI or T20 team selected for Zimbabwe. Very good going selectors, you've shown how to kill someone's confidence. Robbie would be low on confidence because of our brainless selectors but I am sure one day when the panel of selectors will be sacked, he'll surely come back into the team.

Why are people taking T20 so seriously :laugh

Thank god our ODI and of course test players are so much better than our so called 't20 specialists'.

Our regular dudes play much better in ODI cricket vs T20s as well.

Dhoni and Kris Srikanth's Idly Sambhar formula is ruling Cricket in India along with Wada Pav of Sarad Pawar.

Until this ends, India won't win any World Cup.

No offence to any Tamilians- Maharastrians, except Kris Srikanth and players who are getting the advantage.:)

We have fielded an all North Indian XI SO MANY TIMES during the last few years, don't give me this crap. Selection has been HORRIBLE but it does not at all favor the south, at all. There are like 6 Delhi players who are consistently in the team FFS! Plus Piyush (Northie) snubbed 2 much more qualified south Indians, one of them a Hyderabadi and a Tamilian. South Indian players like Badri etc get little to no chance and a very short rope in the international scene, compared to guys like Rohit Sharma who can average 24 after some 50 matches.

Don't give me this.

Murali Vijay for Sehwag was the better choice to make instead of Uthappa. We went for a specialist opener to replace another opener. Uthappa is more of a middle order batsman these days (even for RCB, he plays in the middle order). And Chennai was not a flat wicket in the IPL. One match was high scoring (the one against Rajasthan where Vijay got that hundred) but Chennai overall had more turn in it than other wickets played in the IPL. There was even one game where we had a low scoring encounter (CSK vs DD, I think).

Our mistakes were more due to Dhoni's XI selection. Playing Jadeja inspite of his poor performances in T20's was horrendous. And even after having a shocker of a match against Australia, he was persisted with for the West Indies game. Where can you go and rant about it? Yusuf Pathan is another waste player (IPL bully). His brother (Irfan) is 100x better. Not playing Vinay Kumar at all in the initial games (esp. on the Barbados pitch) was bad (Vinay finally proved his worth in the SL game). Could have atleast tried him. So the mistakes were almost all the team's.

I don't think Dhoni is selfish or cowardly at all. I actually think that he has a little too much confidence in himself and thinks he can accelerate later but before you know it, it's too late.

While fielding, he has literally nothing to work with. He can mess with field setting all he likes, but when you've got such poor bowlers, there's only so much you can do.

BTW, while you're at it, make a thread for the disgrace that is the Pakistan cricket team. A disgrace to your nation and a disgrace to the game of cricket. Atrocious fielding, senseless batting, idiotic captaincy, outrageous acts on and off the cricketing field, a complete lack of team spirit. I could go on and on.

Which refers to, produce a bowler. The best bowler for your team took 0 wickets in 20 overs.
And I'll get onto the Pakistan team later. First I'm intrigued to see what sort of fight they put up against Australia, because in reality, Pakistan lost what turned into a somewhat close game against England, very close game against New Zealand, and then beat South Africa. So we'll have to see.

Both India and Pakistan only beat SA in this tournament. The fact that Pakistan got to play SA in the Super 8s got them through. While we are at it, SA were pathetic as well. I don`t think any team has looked good in this tournament, bar Australia and England.

Fair enough, but the other teams in our group were ass poor as well. Pakistan had 2 close losses, and 1 win, and by virtue of the rules of the tournament, we go through.

This thread, coming from an understandably happy Pakistani fan (seeing as Pakistan is through and India is out) is useless because it questions various aspects of Indian cricket (captaincy, IPL fatigue, depth, etc) when Pakistan has many of the same issues and more. They are just being ignored because they luckily reached the semi finals, but make no mistake, they are still there.

My point stands because of reading about Indian fans harping about how their team is gonna go all the way this year, the Indian media overhyping their team, and this is the performance that they gave out.

Pointless thread and really sad the way Pakistanis take pleasure in the misfortune of Indians. I guess the one in a billion occurrence when Pakistan has succeeded where India has not, makes them get all hopped up.

Id rather honestly lose and go home like the Indians than follow a liar and a cheat captain.

When did Afridi lie?

And again, read above.

Cheating and lying are essentially the same crime. Also when initially asked he came up with some pathetic lie about how he was inspecting the ball and not tampering with it

Not sure who you are referring to, there was hardly anyone at PC who thought India was going to win this thing.

Hmarka :hpraise:hpraise

Pak sneaked in, they didnt deserve to go though. They got lucky. If they hadn't (which i wished they hadnt) this thread wouldnt be here right now.

India doesn't deserve to go though. And they didn't.

Both team beat SA and a weak team, and got owned by the rest. Pak won the game that could take them though (again they didnt deserve to) and India didnt.

To the Indians: If you think its unfair that Pak got to go though from the same position as you, then think again life isnt fair. But look at it this way. They get to get owned by the Ozs for the 2nd time in this tournament.

To Paks: Dont be so proud of this. Your team is a mess!!

"oh Indians dont get happy when pak loses" "oh paks dont get happy when India loses" And that's ALL BULL. It goes both ways.

/End thread!

Indian media? They never hyped us up to win this thing, especially with the squad we picked. Even freaking Ashok Malhothra, who usually doesn't know what is going on, was questioning some of the inclusions.

Cricket is popular in India, and cricket sells. If there is cricket on TV, be it on ESPN or a news channel, people are going to watch, making you money. Any news organization is going to cash in.
This tournament was hyped just like every single Indian fixture out there, nothing extravagant.

Just wait till I critique the Pakistani team, if you thought this was bad. They're not out though.

Also, its the overhyping of Indian cricket in general, and the IPL. I didn't make that clear (actually made a misleading / contradicting statement just now to a previous post).

Don't tell me that the IPL hasn't been hyped up by the Indian media, and these forums, because it definitely was. Since the IPL was such a great training ground :sarcasm

But the Pakistani team will have something else in store from me. They need to get out of the competition first though.

The IPL was hyped, it was a good tournament, and it was a good training ground for cricketers. We just didn't choose the right ones!

You had 60 meter boundaries, with absolutely crap bowlers (Indian bowlers).

More like a nets session than real cricket games.

Dude. It's IPL. They can do w/e they want to do. They are gonna hype it. They wanna sell. They want full house. And they can change the whole cricket rule in there if they want to. You dont have to watch it.

Now you are just showing you frustration because Pak players didnt play IPL.
