No refuelling. Good or bad?

Well I am in favor of leveling field so full fuel load is not bad. But where are tires to support this?

Next season is shaping up really well on the one hand. I can see Red Bull, Brawn, MacLaren and Ferrari all being competitive but no re-fuelling worries me slightly.
With the aerodynamic improvements they seem to make every year there's a definite danger of races being a total procession with everyone finishing in grid order.
Shouldn't be an issue without refuelling, it has provided great races in the past, as drivers have to manage their fuel load. Overtaking in the pits isn't real overtaking and provides no real excitement anyway. Besides just because they aren't refuelling it doesn't change the fact that they will be stopping for tyres.

Kers can't be banned for next season but as far as I know the only team that have said that they want to use it is Williams and they are just using it as a bargaining tool since being kicked out of Fota. The only teams with working Kers (McLaren and Ferrari) have said they wont use it. Great money saving system hey!

Overtaking really an only be increased if they stop building these crappy modern race tracks which Bernie might love because they have very pretty hospitality areas and grandstands but have terrible design when it comes to the actual circuit. Most of the traditional older circuits provide at least a couple of overtaking opportunities in a lap.

Ah, Valencia. A set of high gear corners designed to bore you to death.

Don't really think Re-fuelling will make overtaking less likely, in fact I'd say it's more likely. You won't get queues of cars being held up by some heavy car, for instance. It'll push the technology even harder. Choosing when to use the tyres will still come in to effect.

The way I see it, the only way to get that is by making all cars have the same engine (power, not name of course). Put the driving back in the hands of the drivers and not the cars!

That would never happen.. if you want all the cars to have same engine etc then what's the point having constructors like McLaren or Ferrari you might as well replace them with FIA team 1 and FIA team 2

jazz added 5 Minutes and 32 Seconds later...

Lol well all the cars will be heavy anyway.. seriously its still hard to overtake becasue once you get into a driver turbulent dirty air its hard for the car to get closer to make a move unless you have a championship wining car like a Brawn or a Kers car. I honestly believe Kers was an intresting concept the only team it worked well was with McLaren but if all the teams can get it to work then it would be a great addition.

That's what A1 GP is all about. Watched a bit last year but will try and watch most if not all of the races next time around.

Hope you have a great time. I haven't been to a GP in ages (Wonder if i'll get the chance to go to another British GP!). Shame the Yas Marina circuit is utter tripe. Sure it looks good on TV but its probably one of the worst circuits I've ever seen.

Toyota out for 2010. Could mean Sauber are back in.

I'd have thought he'd have no problem securing a drive elsewhere.

With 3 extra teams on the grid there's even talk of Antoney Davidson getting a drive again!
Someone might even take on Nakajima...

I wouldn't bet on all 3 teams making the grid though ;)

Kobayashi is certainly good enough to get a drive somewhere else. He's exactly what Formula One needs. Someone young and inexperienced to come and liven things up with aggressive racing. That's why I think Sutil is also good for the sport, even if at times he makes some poor decisions. As you can see with Grosjean and Algersuari, it's almost impossible to make it in Formula One if you are timid and just try to finish the race no matter where you finish.

Shame to see Toyota leave as they had a good car for the most part of this season, especially at the start when they looked very promising.

It will be nice seeing Bruno Senna in formula one. Some say that he is a good driver, just hope his team can be competitive.
