Graphics Discussion/Help.

Gimpshop, it sucks.
Anyway, I'm going to get Photoshop CS5 soon but at the present Gimpshop can never be used to create a render. That lasso tool just flies away like anything and there is no pen tool. Glad to see that I'm shifting to CS5 soon.

I think you use gimp, if you use Photoshop, the freeform pen tool is really useful. It has worked wonders for me.
BTW, guys, I have changed to Photoshop.

Does anybody know a website to get getty images of football. Eg:For cricket, there is a Cricinfo website.

I don't know how to do that curve between the two colors(light and dark blue) in the text "Battle off the field"

Help would be appreciated

Take a new layer above your text. Make an elliptical selection. Fill it with white. Clip mask it to the text layer. Change on the blending mode to soft light or play with the opacity.

It all depends on how you use it. Light textures obviously suggest they are on the tint side, as to say you have to use them with the blending mode set to lighten, screen, add or dodge. The original 'Textures' like rock, bricks, walls are used on the shade side, say, Darken, Multiply, color burn (on rare occasions).

Let me put it clear, Perfect the blending modes. PS will be dead easy.

How do we get that honey-comb pattern at the background? Any help would be appreciated.
