Group A (Pakistan, Bangladesh, Australia) - 11th Match Australia v Bangladesh

We suck =/

Failures of the game: Sami and Hafeez - I blame the captaincy on Hafeez as I'm not sure what Afridi was going for there...

It seems as though we were very fixated - things had to go to plan, and we had no flexibility.

Now, we need Australia to beat Bangladesh. Hopefully they don't let us down.
Indeed, that's how I felt about the strategy. They'd clearly predetermined that Razzaq and Alam weren't options and the orders themselves didn't seem to be too heavily affected by the actual match situation. Afridi was a good example of what happens when you bowl one too many overs without a wicket. To attack a strong partnership, the patterns needed to gather more complication.

It was classic Sami, he had the cards in his hand and initially looked good, but when put under pressure he folded. Consider the fateful over to David Hussey;

Length ball, middle stump - straight 6
Full ball, leg stump - straight 2
Wide slower ball - wd
Short of length, middle stump - midwicket 6
Short of length, wide of off - straight 6
Short of length, outside off - straight 6
Yorker, off stump - cover 1

Where is the execution in this over? The slower ball is wasted, the yorker is too late and there's no hint of the bouncer which got Warner out. Even a fuller length would have been a good change-up. With some sense he could have gotten it right, but instead we've got a bloke who is flying on autopilot against a guy who has RPG-7s for arms.

On the other hand, Aamer and Tait both bowled really well. There were a couple of little slips, but they got so much right and were rewarded. Saeed Ajmal was also very effective and; although the damage was already done; helped to create the situation from which Australia destabilised.

Don't think there is any cause for concern there. Bangladesh have hardly progressed over the years. I think we'll only see the major teams in the super 8s this time, most of them have got to grips with the format to make upsets less likely.

Should be Aamir but most have it down as Aamer.
Ameer. LOL thats how i always spell it. I always forget which letter doubles, A or E

but they all sounds the same. Amir, Amer, Aamir, Ameer,

Ameer would sound like Mir as in Boromir from Lords Of The Rings (or the hindi/urdu word for "rich"). Amir, Amer, Aamir would like Amir as in Amir friggin Khan of Bollywood.

It was not a Hatrick.. But 2 runouts and 3 wickets

1 ball
2 ball
3 ball
4 ball
5 ball - dot
6 ball

what you 1st ball 2nd ball 3rd ball? Nice way to put it :sarcasm

1st Ball - W, Bwled
2nd Ball - W, Bwled
3rd Ball - W, Run Out
4th Ball - W, Run Out
5th Ball - 0 (lol this time they'd dare to run)
6th Ball - W Bwled em.

All Out!

Imagine if Amir bowled that over in the WC final when the opposition needed just 2 runs to win :hpraise

Some pre match comments.

''If Australia score near 200 again then forget it,'' said Siddons, who dared Australia to change their line-up and include an extra paceman on the quicker Barbados pitch. ''They can't fit another paceman in there - if they do that weakens their batting so it's better for us.''

Clarke suggested room might be found for Ryan Harris despite the team's solid display.

''Unfortunately only 11 guys take the field but there's four other guys there who are fighting fit and looking forward to an opportunity. So to me if conditions suit another fast bowler in Barbados, I don't see why not,'' he said.

Bangladesh going under in Australia's pool

Guess technically he is right that it weakens our batting but Harris in for Smith wouldn't have that much affect batting wise since he was batting 9. Smith at 7 wouldn't weaken it that much anyway.
