Group B - 9th Match Netherslands v Pakistan

Blame Broad if you want, but the fact we lost wasn't because of Broad alone. Collingwood is the bloke that should be copping most of the stick, not Broad. He had an awful game.
Broad is to blame. Colly had a bad game, fine. It wasn't that bad it cost us defeat though. We still had a good chance of winning but because Mr STI machine Broad can't hit 3 stumps with 3 chances we lost to a bunch of pot smoking umpa lumpas.

Sorry if it seemed that way but I wasn't just copping all the stick on Broad, it's just that with one ball he inflicted the defeat in whcih he could have avoided it.

Rashid bowling in the rain lost us the game in the long run. Why collingwood chose him to bowl then i'll never know.

The funny thing is not many people in the Netherlands will even realise that their team has won against England. Even better: they wouldn't actually care.

Yes but it will raise the profile of the game, like it did in Ireland when they beat Pakistan

England have just confirmed they can't do it under pressure even against crap teams and will not win the ashes or another cricket match ever again.

Not really. England have only proved they are shite at T20 internationals. Test cricket they can play. ODI cricket they can play. But T20 no matter how good it is at domestic level England are crap at international level. Well done Netherlands though. Broad should have caught that caught and bowled chance it was in his hands practically ffs. Also should have thrown that chance that he had where he hit the stumps with his hand. From that close he wouldn't have missed the throw. That diving attempt off Sidebottom's last over by Morgan was a good effort, he'd have probably taken it if it hadn't been so wet.

Lol the West Indies don't even turn up to their home games.

But tbh Zorax we are used to heartbreak. And besides this isn't even heartbreak it's just disapointment. 5-0 against Australia is heartbreak.

Exactly a bit of perspective. We've got an Ashes summer. I normally have a mild heart attack on a last ball game, especially involving England, my heartbeat hasn't gone beyond my normal "chilled" rate.

Disappointing absolutely, but some of the reactions are funny. Of course most of it is trolling.

Still think it requires a negative mindset to have played for that, sends out a really bad message and no professional sportsman would not throw it. Especially cricketers how are very proud of winning.
We've been threatened with defeat for 15 overs. Holland have a single, there's no chance of running them out. Just take the ball and let's have the one over tie breaker. No, he throws the ball aimlessly and throws away the game. That moment should haunt Broad much, much more than Yuvraj's six sixes.

My time with the OMG stuff is over. If you want to buy my posts, PM me.

WI fans, when they show up, are fun :D

England are just shocking when it comes to must-win situations. Really are. Australia, recently India and RSA, have developed that killer instinct. This was just terrible. They had no intensity on the field in the last few overs!!! It was like they were all standing there thinking 'OMFG, we're gonna lost to Netherlands. OMG!!!'

Broad bowled well IMO. Fielded like crap though, he broke under the pressure. Just doesn't seem like a pressure player yet. Anderson was great, he's been England's best for a while. Foster was alright behind the stumps, and Colly was terrible in the field.

Broad missed the stumps a few times, but Collingwood picked the wrong players for the XI, set awful fields, bowled Rashid 2 overs too many with a wet ball, batted pretty awfully and wasn't that strong in the field himself (an awful throw to Foster comes to mind). Broad's over was actually very good, just a few small mistakes cost him. He shouldn't have needed to keep it down to 7 in the last over, and if we had a proper captain then he wouldn't have.

Do Stoke go to Old Trafford and play for a win? No, they shut up shop and go for a draw. There are sometimes when the win should escape the mind and preservation should be at the forefront, ie when you need to hold on to the ball to stay in the bloody game.

Reality is, although they didn't bowl great, they should have made more than 160 ish with the start they got. They looked frail against the Scots and the Dutch played well pegged them back and then held their nerve with the bat

So England should be negative against a team who doesn't have test match status and have no kind of cricket set-up?

The winning mentality is what makes a sportsman, so often us Brits moan about our cricketers not wanting to win, yet when they do, and get it wrong, we say, "No, you should have been negative!".

You know that picture gas always posts of the 3 players holding the bats. Well Broad doesn't really need to hold the bat because he has NO BALLS.

Someone should photoshop that.
