Group B - 9th Match Netherslands v Pakistan

Yea, Rashid. Why was he in the team over Dimi - the man handpicked by Shane Warne for the IPL? The man who took over from captaincy in T20 at Hampshire from the greatest skipper there ever was? Dimi easily is one of the best T20 players in the squad. He and Bopara were the only ones to make an impact at the IPL.

What's more stupid is the fact there was no-one backing up. Brings back memories of that game against New Zealand where we lost by a run out. Need to hammer Pakistan now. Fat chance of that, unless Netherlands beat them as well....
Tbh I'd marked Pakistan as the side more likely to lose an upset because they're more likely to collapse and score only 130 on a good pitch.

Dominic Cork made a good point there when he said
"even without Pietersen or Flintoff we should have still beaten them"

So England should be negative against a team who doesn't have test match status and have no kind of cricket set-up?

The winning mentality is what makes a sportsman, so often us Brits moan about our cricketers not wanting to win, yet when they do, and get it wrong, we say, "No, you should have been negative!".

It's not like i'm saying we should start a game thinking, "right let's not get beat and try to pinch a draw. let's start doing rain dances". All i'm saying is that our potential participation in the next round was at stake and he needed to hold on to the ball.

I'd have much preferred to see Dimi coming in after 17 overs than Robert Key and equally, see him bowl rather than Rashid with a wet ball/Collingwood/Wright.

The way we crumbled under pressure was abysmal.

You know that deal we had. Afraid I won't be using that Guptill avatar....we didn't shake on it........*legs it* :spy

:D

And you were so sure England wouldn't lose, you said you were 100 percent certain they wouldn't. I guess I can't ever take your word for anything again because you also said Broad was going to be a good player. Well good players don't miss three chances in a row. :D

Just joking, but your going to have to use a Guptill avatar I'm afraid.

Sorry, but since when did one over decide how good a bowler was? Yuvi got hit for 5 sixes by Dimi, but has two hattricks as well. What do you make of that?
Nothing. Yuvi is a ████ bowler. He will remain so, despite the fluke hat tricks in the IPL.

Similarly with Broad. To date, he has produced atleast 2 world class dire performances, and is yet to give in a great performance. Broad is over-rated hype, and the only way I see him adding value to the English T20 or the test team is by developing into a batsman.

In ODIs, however, he has got some knack of picking wickets.
