The South African picture isn't showing up. But South Africa and New Zealand should go through from here.

Of New Zealand Ross Taylor is in form and McCullum also in the latest matches.

Of South African players almost everybody is in form. If South Africa is smart they let Yusuf Abdulla and Roelof van der Merwe play. They've shown their worth already in the IPL. Parnell and Ontong have great talent also, but I think these players will be more reserve players. Advantage of having Peterson in your side, is that he can bowl and bat.

Only worry is Graeme Smith's form and Steyn coming back from injury. Everyone else is in good form.

Albie Morkel Vs Mccullum would be interesting to see which one of them will be the better hitter of the ball.

South Africa and New Zealand better watch out for Scotland. :p

I've sort of changed my mind, I think the Saffas will beat NZ and end up as the top finisher in the group. New Zealand's bowling has been pretty weak in the warmup's.

I would have said SA to top the group before the warm ups. But now they are even bigger favourites. Scotland did alright against the English but you would expect them to get up for them so will be much harder for them against NZ or SA.

New Zealands bowling is weak because they play too many bits and pieces players like butler, diamanti etc because they can hit the bowl at the death. My thery is your 8-11 should never need 2 bat in a T20.
In the group SA and NZ will easily get through just the case of which one will go through on top. SA have the more balanced side with specialist batsmen and bowlers. But you just never know with New Zealand one day they can be 100/1 after 10 while on another day 21/5 after 6.

Mate, Butler isn't a bits and pieces player. His batting has improved a lot because of how long he couldn't bowl for. But he is in the team for his bowling, his batting is just an added bonus. NZ's problem is that they rely on players like Ryder, Styris, and Oram to fill in for the 5th bowler, in ODI's that is fine. But medium pacers in 20/20 cricket get delt to pretty quickly.

Mate, i actually feel butler is a bits and pieces player at the moment. I no he is coming back from an injury. I feel we must have some better bowlers out there than butler but they are just not as good at batting hence they have not been piked. If he was one of our best bowlers he would be in our test team as well. Is what NZ is looking for are big hitters that can bat low down the order and are alright bowlers as well, instead of bowlers that play in all forms and don't worry about there batting. You should never need your 8-11 to bat in a T20.

Not really Butler was picked because of his T20 bowling we don't have anyone better who is not in the squad. Guys like Southee, Martin etc are way to easy to hit.

Test match cricket does not equal one day cricket look at guys like Mills and Bracken they are both great one day bowlers but don't cut it in the test arena, however in Butler's case it is more of a fitness issue than a bowling one.
