Group B - 9th Match Netherslands v Pakistan

Its raining !!! This could turn out to be a farcical opening game. I cannot see any reason why England v Pakistan should not have been the opening game. The ground would be full at the moment if it were a Pakistan match.

Or maybe the ICC knew it was going to rain today and decided to throw this game away instead of the England-Pakistan match. ;)

Well seeing as England are the hosts -- It would look somewhat silly if they were to lost the opening match ;)

It's going to be a rain ruined Tournament. Thanks sheety British weather.

Iam praying for a full house actually ! It would be a pity to see an empty ground to start a tournament off.

The organisation wasn't great to be honest. To have this event in an Ashes year was a bad idea.

Noticed this posted on CW:

England chief medical officer, Nick Peirce, informs us that "Kevin [Pietersen] had been making excellent progress with the management of his right Achilles injury and had shown substantial improvement. However today he has experienced a degree of pain which medical assessments have suggested may be related to some aggravation from his lower back."

"I saw Kevin Pietersen at Lord's on Wednesday," says Sarah Robinson, "and during the warm ups, he was refereeing the football rather than playing and did completely different warm ups to everyone else."

So it turns out it's not the Achilles problem after all, just a twinge in his back. Hopefully he'll be fit come the Pakistan game!

Good to see the rain has cleared, must admit I wasn't really looking forward to this World Twenty/20 but as I've now finished my exams barring one I've warmed to the idea it should be a decent competition.

Its still raining and there could`nt have been a more farcical start to the event than this.
We have Bumble and Hussain in the studio at the moment and that is the only positive at the moment.

Guys in London, is it clearing up?

Not really Farcical start its just a shame that its raining.

Rains stopped now anywho Toss-offs about to happen now. :p

Netherlands to bowl first. England better make a score. Rob Key to fail.

The Netherlands skipper didn't say 'for sure'. Dissappointed.

He sounds like a mafia boss, the sort you'd find in deepest Amsterdam.
