Group B (Sri Lanka, New Zealand, Zimbabwe) - 9th Match Zimbabwe v NZ

I don't get why people were talking Sri Lanka up tbh. Their side in the last tournament looked much better. The batting line-up this year doesn't look strong enough. Dilshan's in terrible form, Jayasuriya's past his best, Sangakkara didn't look in particularly good form and after that there's very little International quality. Their bowling attack with the 3 M's looks impressive, but I don't see their batting being good enough to post/chase large totals. May end up proving me wrong, but I don't see them getting close to winning the tournament atm.

Anyone else loving the return of International cricket (despite being Twenty20) after a long and horrid month. Everything from the quality of the bowling, fielding to the commentary is such a refreshing change from IPL. :)

I agree with the gist of your post except the bowling attack. Murali is a washed up has been and Mendis is nothing special.

I dunno, I miss the karbonn kamaal catch, the citi moment of success, the maxx mobile ad break, the ads in the middle of the over with gambhir and sehwag fighting over the cell phone, the useless bollywood celebs and modi getting all the camera time instead of the cricket. I mean, who wouldn't?

I believe both Murali and Mendis will perform well in this tournament.

ha McCullum fails again, possibly the most over-rated limited overs cricketer in history.

Fail number one for McCullum in this tourn

And Many More To Come..

2 Massive Blows and Oram You Beauty!!

Damn my 1st pick was incorrect :mad

Good on NZ, they won it with the bowling and batting almost let them down again. Malinga would defend those runs in the last over 9 times out of 10.

ha McCullum fails again
Didn't he just win us the game with ball, bat and 3 catches :laugh (the good mccullum i am talking about, ha)

possibly the most over-rated limited overs cricketer in history.
50 overs?, yeah a bit over-hyped

20/20?, no freakin way, probably the best 20/20 batsman in the world
Not to mention his 3 T20 100's (one against a brilliant AUS attack)

Good match for the first one of the big tournament. Low scoring, but if it can be this thrilling, we shouldnt mind. Good win for New Zealand. Now Sri Lanka have to win against Zimbabwe (who have beat both Australia and Pakistan in the warmup) if they want to qualify for the Super Eights. I expect an upset in that match (considering that Zim have the confidence of beating two giant sides in the warmups).
