Harmison to retire after Ashes?

Harmison=Tons of wasted talent. The guys has every thing on his side, Pace height and every thing a fast bowler could dream of. I don't know why he is not one the best fast bowlers going around in the world ATM. If he retires i will be truly saddened.

Might be emotional blackmail to get the selectors to pick him for the Ashes ;)

If he is retiring, what more reason do England need to give him a go? Looks how Fred's going knowing that this is his final season. Harmy giving it all will be a sight to behold!

I've just included the whole article in the first post. It's referring to Daily Mirror. I don't know it that's a reliable source. But I got the news from the ICC website (while I was checking Bangladesh's Test points) and I thought that would be reliable enough.

Like I said earlier, cricinfo didn't post about this news. And neither did BBC.

Unless Harmison's emotions truly can't handle International Cricket, then he shouldn't retire. He's taking wickets for Durham and if he continues he'll be back in the England side soon.

Basolutely true i also agree with you may be emotional blackmail for picking him and if he performs well then none can stop him to come back.:cheers

Why else would Harmison announce he is retiring AFTER the Ashes when he is not playing in the team at the moment? Why not retire immediately unless he harbours some hope of playing some part, or is trying to force the selector's hands..................... Why not at the end of the Ashes, it's all in the timing
