Just found this thread, but how come Half-Blood Prince isn't on the poll for favourite Harry Potter books??

That is beacuse this thread was earlier known by the name Harry Potter and the Half Blood Prince.
It seems the mods dont want yet another HP threaD for the Dh.
So they let merged it.

The moives do not reflect the actual picture, you see.
I have seen all the moives, but the purist will always prefer the book over the movie, unless the latter is properly mad ewithout cutting certain scenes or changing the story altogether.

The movies are just a good way to see a different(Or perhaps) a similer interpretation of movie. And seeing it in a visual form is always a little cool, even if the movie has never been particularly accurate.I think the movies also find things that perhaps the ordinary has missed,or placed importance on something we usually see as unimportant.Which is cool. It's also exciting to see how moviemakers effect the magix and supernatural as well. It's fantastic in terms of spells in the fourth, and you can only hope the dramatic realness of it will continue.

nice to see that you are back and active again sachin.
Movis blive give us the director's imagination.True that the spells and other thing have been wonderfully cast in it,but it would have been better had they stuck to the original plot,as brett lee says.

But movies are a different medium, and cannot be seen the same way the books can.Personally i'd love to sit through 6 hour movies so we could get a correct interpretation of the plot, but that ain't happening. So what we must do is judge the director and the movie on it's interpretation.
Cheers Iceman!

The movies are cruddy, everyone knows that. The disappointing thing about them is it puts people off the book if they see the movies first. Think of LOTR, people watch those movies and think that was brilliant, and want to read the book too. I agree with Sachin, I would much rather sit through a six hour movie that actually portrays the story line than sit through that rubbish.

Anyone know when the last book is coming out? I heard it will be on the 7/7/7 is that true?

I'd be a little surprised if it came out that early. But i would point out Wolf that LOTR wasn't a great Trilogy.Thing of the Return of the King...Just a destroyer of all that Jackson worked for.

Do we all agreed that the R.A.B mentioned in the last book is Regalus Black, Sirus' brother?

I hate to agree with it,but there is no other person whom i can think of atm !

Well i really haven't looked at the American one as it is atrocious(And always has been). Is the UK one out yet?It would seem to be Regalus Black.Though Hopefully JK comes up with a twist.

IMHO, Harry potter is propably the most overhyped pathetic book
ever to be created !!!

i dont understand whats the big fuzz about it.
its the same old thing over and over again.
every year harry potter finds himself a new ancient dangerous
secret....no one believes him...then some ****** enemies come in
different avatars and try to kill hairy...but he kills em all and saves
the day....now moving on to the next year......

and dont even get me started on the movies......

one of the things that irritates me the most is the villain.
he is a sissy...so called LORD VOLDEMORT !!
i guess he has a soft spot for HAIRY potter....

the wimp couldnt kill hairy when he was a baby....Try No.1

next he meets hairy in sorcerers stone and hairy just keeps his hands
on him and he burns(**** no kid can be that powerful) - Try No.2

next he meets hairy again in the 4th book and by that time the lord puts the killing curse on hairy and he blocks it..its really that simple ! - Try No.3

and again...he meets him in the 5th book and again he is saved(though this time there were lot of good witches) anyways the great lord as he is called fails to kill his enemy - Try No.4

and the biggest stupidity is voldemort is always mentioned as "He Who Must Not Be Named" or "You Know Who"

if he cant kill a puny kid....who the hell made him a dark lord.

i know i am gonna be flamed...but i just couldnt keep it inside me anymore..
