IMHO, Harry potter is propably the most overhyped pathetic book
ever to be created !!!

i dont understand whats the big fuzz about it.
its the same old thing over and over again.
every year harry potter finds himself a new ancient dangerous
secret....no one believes him...then some ****** enemies come in
different avatars and try to kill hairy...but he kills em all and saves
the day....now moving on to the next year......

and dont even get me started on the movies......

one of the things that irritates me the most is the villain.
he is a sissy...so called LORD VOLDEMORT !!
i guess he has a soft spot for HAIRY potter....

the wimp couldnt kill hairy when he was a baby....Try No.1

next he meets hairy in sorcerers stone and hairy just keeps his hands
on him and he burns(**** no kid can be that powerful) - Try No.2

next he meets hairy again in the 4th book and by that time the lord puts the killing curse on hairy and he blocks it..its really that simple ! - Try No.3

and again...he meets him in the 5th book and again he is saved(though this time there were lot of good witches) anyways the great lord as he is called fails to kill his enemy - Try No.4

and the biggest stupidity is voldemort is always mentioned as "He Who Must Not Be Named" or "You Know Who"

if he cant kill a puny kid....who the hell made him a dark lord.

i know i am gonna be flamed...but i just couldnt keep it inside me anymore..

Fair points :)

If potter had a team in Battrick he could always pull a prof/prof/prof player with 0 ITS ;)

Non-BT players please bear with me..

Just saw JKR on Jonathan Ross confirming that there's a pretty major bloodbath at the end of 7; it's not just two characters dying. Asked about a sequel she implied that there wouldn't really be anyone left to write about!

Ron is definitely going to die. Hermoine is going to be devastated as she 'always secretly had a crush on him'. Harry Pothead will defeat He Who Cannot Defeat a Baby' and he will still die. He will meet all his dead relatives and friends in a Gladiator-esque moment. Everyone, basically, will die, except for Neville Longbottom

Personally I hate the obsession over these books, I have read them all myself but didn't find them to be anything particularly special at all, and the last couple have been tired, but I've invested about 200 bucks in these books so I'll be reading the last.

On top of that, Harry Potter is an incredibly stupid story as well, if you think about how ridiculous most of is. I know that most will argue, 'hey it's fiction, who cares?' But I'm just like that. It is a little repetitive JK, but not as much as those stupid Series of Unfortunate Events books. Try writing over 10 books with the EXACT SAME PLOT only with a few tiny changes.

But fanatics over Harry Potter, some people even try to play Quidditch (which is the stupidest game ever invented), go too far. It's only a book, and is far from the best I've read, that's for sure. My favourite kids book was Artemis Fowl, but I'm over kids books now. I liked Dan Brown's books.

$200?

How the hell does someone play Quidditch?

1 - Humans can't fly
2 - There's the risk of being hit on the head with a big, hard ball

Read Rowling's book "Quidditch Through the Ages" to read the history behind the game and its rules.
1 - Humans can't fly
Neither can the wizards, that's why they use the magical brooms.
2 - There's the risk of being hit on the head with a big, hard ball
Isn't that kind of injury invovled in almost all sports??

I preordered the Deathly Hallows as I am likely to be bored to death otherwise, also I want to see how Rowling plans to bring an end to Voldemort.

Lol. Why did you quote me to post that? :p

Dean, how do these Harry Potter fanatics play Quidditch?

I quoted to answer the questions that you asked in your previous post. So please re-read the quoted part, especially the ones not bolded.

And don't call me a fanatic, I did get into the series after reading the first book and watching the first movie, but Rowling's repetitiveness and any major character development killed the enjoyment.

And by the way, there is a game called Harry Potter:Quidditch World Cup. By the ratings, I infer that the game isn't something outstanding though.

Sorry Will, just read Dean's post, and he made some good points about the series. I just found out about Muggle Quidditch, and to be honest it's quite ludicrous.

I read the Artemis Fowl series a couple of years ago, and absolutely loved Colfer's writing style. Perhaps his writing doesn't appeal to me as greatly as it used to, but I still admire how he displayed such brilliance in his writing, along with the splendid humour.

They're like $40 a pop for 6 books. And as for Quidditch, see cndb_novice's post.
