Hey guys! I was just reading some comments in the forum, did not bother to read all the posts because you guys have written a lot. I have been playing and loving each ICC game since 2004 version, and am planning to get ICC3 but for PSP. So I am downloading the demo now, and if I like it I will order it for PC as well from Play.

As many others I am very exited and happy that there is finally a change in the graphics & engine(?) of the game! But it has happened with other classic games previously that the developers tried to make it even better but turned out to be a total failure. Or something like that.

But my question goes out to those who have the game, I mean with all the new engine & graphics, has the game lost it's originality? I mean the joy & fun of playing the old ICC games, do you still get that feeling?

My download's finished, talk to you guys later!

No. Npt at all. The backbone of the game is that it's essentially a stats and database reliant game. The previous graphics have held no previous baring on the game and I personally think it's ridiculous that many have expected the graphics to be better or different to how they are.

The graphics are important to the game. What is important is that they include all the new players coming into this season and new younger players that have been picked up by teams, and finally sort out the trouble with Kolpak signings etc. This they have done. The game is still the same as it was. Just with a new flash, bright, graphics screen to tempt those that are impressed by bright colours, not by the actual playablity and additivity of the game.

the game engine is better, and i always only watch wickets and chances at most so the addition of a hawkeye type system has made that part of the game even better. and i totally agree by animator, its still the same game, if you liked a previous version you will like this version, it just has new graphics (and a better skin till someone makes a sky sports one :D)

It may have lost its simplicity, but it looks a hell of a lot better in my books.

Yeah, I agree with you guys after trying the demo and definatley going to buy it! :) But still I didn't like that they haven't changed amount of sixies. Very few sixies being hit in the game. Like Afridi comes in against Zimbabwe in the 45th over, you GOT to expect some hitting... he only hit some fours and ran doubles & singles :(

But it was different with the new in-match graphic, I must admit I did miss the old graphic, but the new one was also nice. So don't know to pick the "classic" or the new one. But commentary was the same & classic. But they could have updated it?

Screenshots in screenshot thread.

the 6's issue is defo the major game problem, one day games have gotten better but still need more 6's, the scoring in cricket coach is much more realistic, especially the T20 games

I am not a fan of ICC 3 at all. The menus are tacky and sluggish, the in-game engine is poorly made and the majority of the animations suck, the in-game menu is extremely slow and poorly designed, as is the way you pick the bowling length etc. I am not a fan of the changes, and much prefer ICC 06. ICC 06 was a game i would pick up and play, have fun for a while then put away for a while, i dont think ICC 3 is as good for the pick up and play factor. I am very dissapointed with it.

I am the opposite, the menus in ICC III are much more fresh and neat than in older versions of ICC. They lost that unreadable font at last and the blue is cool.

The animations also look very nice. They feel more like real cricket than HB Studios and Codemasters managed and ICC isn't even supposed to do that unlike those two!

good to hear as I have ordered my first ICC game in 5 years today :upray

Everyone has their different opinions :)
I like this game, maybe I like it because I have been waiting for a new game to come out? I just won the WC with Pakistan on the demo. Chasing down 293 in the final against SL, Younis Khan got 129 before he was run out in the final overs by Mohammad Yousuf (who else?) & Inzamam -ul-Haq came in his last innings to run 3 (!!!) and win the WC FOR HIS COUNTRY! :)

if ICC had a complicated database and selector it would not be ICC
people are saying ICC has lost its old way but everyone wanted change the 3d is awesome and the only thing i would change is the option to change it to 2D

AS few questions______Can you speed up play-both highlights and over by over

any advice for bowling i get smashed in test

I agree sorta have to agree with King_Pietersen, shame. I was into my 5th season & was building a strong county side so I could go online & start from there. Hardly anyone will play online for '06 now.

The least they could've done is made the stats atleast after or before the WC had started, as a diehard Matthew Hayden fan, it's dissapointing to see how much his ODI average has increased over the last several months not included on the game as his average on it is 39 and now it's 44. The least they could've done with the 'overhyped' database is enable the statistics to be editted.

The in-game GFX are a terrible inclusion, they're not that great either. TBH, I prefer the original graphics from ICC 06 allot more. They might look a bit 1990 gameboy-esque but there simple & easier to watch & judge and the animations on ICC 3 look rushed when they come into a stroke and overall they it looks out of place. The ICC '06 ones are better. I can't express how frustrated I am that they chose to work on B-Rated graphics when they could've added more indepth inclusions such as the middle overs in OD games, special qualities for players. Actually get some of the player details correct (Shoaib Malik as a bowler?) and probably some other qualities that I can't think of at the moment. Also, the least they could've done is enabled ICC '06 games to be loaded onto ICC 3.

Putting the game on Ps2, etc was a stupid idea because the in-game look like complete rubbish compared the other Ps2 games. I struggle to see many new-buyers buying the game on PS2 based on the graphics because they are simply poor!

This game has been a genuine dissapointment judging from a 2 day trail. Gameplay & setup is generally the same but the main thing that has changed is the lame in-game graphics which make the game feel less fun then in ICC '06.

Sadly, I'll end up buying ICC 3 as I plan to write a story in the future & I'll have to start over with my county game because I'm afraid more allot people will use ICC 3 more then ICC '06.
