You are right about Om Shanti Om (What a garbage film! Don't know how it got such popularity :sarcasm), but I found "Black" pretty interesting.

The starred ones above, I dont agree that they are overrated or overhyped. Black got its due because it had great acting, good messages sprinkled in good measure. DDLJ is a cult classic man! I agree that the guys who are still running it for 13 yrs in a row are insanely stupid, but the movie got what it deserved because it was a real classic. HDDCS was another classic. In fact I would say it didnt get the hype it deserved. OSO was garbage which got too much of name, and Kaminey falls pretty much there. Dhoom-2 is another one that got undeserving hype.

ahhh..yess....dhoom 2...how can i forget that. so, Dhoom 2 replaces HDDCS.

i'll still say black is overrated. the acting was over-the-top and my main problem was it felt like a torture. constantly slapping the girl and handling her like a ragdoll was just too much for me.

Here's my list: (From what I remember right now. Most probably I've missed a hell lot of names)

1. Laagan
2. Sholay
3. Chak de India!
4. Swades (Don't know why, but I simply love this film. Mainly because of the message it was trying to convey)
5. Tare Zameen Paar

In no particular order.

Oh yeah, another jewel in Raang de Basanti. Don't know how I forgot this!

The only Indian movie I'd like to watch again and again is Dil Chahta Hai..

Taare Zameen Par is one of the best classics in recent times. Aamir Khan has four films that can fight hard for a place in the Top 5 Indian films of all time (Lagaan, Dil Chahta Hai, Rang De Basanti, Taare Zameen Par). And two of them were in recent times. He is a genius! His selection of films is impeccable.

Chak de India?! Are you serious?!

I haven't watched many of the 'old' films at all, so here's my top five:

1. Sholay
2. Swades
3. Kal Ho Na Ho - I've watched this film literally 10 times and every single time I laugh at the jokes, feel the passion and intensity, and enjoy it to the fullest extent. It's like watching a new movie every time.
4. Iqbal
5. Lagaan/Dil Chata Hai

Although I really do enjoy those 'classic', stereotypical bollywood flicks like Om Shanthi Om, Main hoon na, and all those SRK movies .

Why not? One of the best sports/hockey films ever made in any language. The story really touched my heart.

Yeah I loved Chak De India and Main hoon Na, infact give me a DVD with Sha Rukh's face and i'll love it.
