Anyone looking forward to Aamir Khan's "Three Idiots"?

Of course.. First of all and the big one, its AAMIR KHAN's film. His record in recent times has been spectacular. He has been giving classic hit films (Rang De Basanti, Taare Zameen Par) and the big commercial blockbusters like Fanaa, Ghajini, etc. Also its a Rajkumar Hirani film (Munnabhai series). Its probably the only biggest film of this year thats yet to come. Only hitch is, Kareena is paired with Aamir (eeks, that pair looks odd). I am a big fan of Aamir, and one other favorite actor of mine, Madhavan (Guru, Rehna Hai Tere Dil Mein, Rang De Basanti) is also there

Kareena's head will swell more after 3 Idiots.

I am waiting for Madhur Bhandarkar's Jail which casts Niel Nitin and Manoj Bajpai.

well, first of all where on earth did he get that info ??

40 films is just bullshit....somewhere between 10-15 is much more believable
and out of those 10-15, 10 films will bomb badly at the box office....

nowadays, hindi movies are a tad under 2.30 hrs.....but it does FEEL like 4 hrs though....

hmmm....you must have scene of the those HORRIBLE films of the 80's and 90s....

out of curiosity....do you remember which film it was ??

80s and 90s were the era when hindi movies used to have lot of action. Now the action genre is dead and buried in Bollywood as especially Hollywood. Bring back the good old days of -
Hollywood: Die Hard, Commando, Rambo, Predator, Hard Target, etc.
Bollywood: Ghayal, Agneepath, Anything staring Dharmendra and Mithun and many more.
And for people bashing Hindi movies Romance Genre, FYI Romance genre isn't bound by language dude. It sucks everywhere. Chick Flicks are for chicks not men.

Action genre is making a comeback of sorts in Bollywood through films like Ghajini and Wanted (although both are South remakes). I think we are going to see more action films coming up in the next few years from our superstar heroes like Hrithik, Abhishek, Aamir, Salman, etc. Dhoom series is an actioner. I am not sure about Shahrukh because he along with Yashraj and Karan Johar brought this 'romance mixed with comedy and sentiments' to Bollywood and made it a signature of Bollywood. But now, its so boring that we want a change. There should always be a mixture, not one genre dominating.

Also, could you stop being 'male chauvinstic'? What do you mean by 'Chick flicks are for chicks not men'? Men are not the ultimate priority on earth. Women do have their place. There are a lot of men who love what you call the 'chick flicks'. There are lot of women who love action. So stop putting it as if women (what you call 'chicks')'s tastes are low and that they are not important enough.

It doesnt mean that me being a man, I have to agree with all the nonsense theories about men's ultimate authority.

Anyways back on topic, I actually found Main Aur Mrs Khanna OK (maybe the mountain of trash reviews made me actually feel for it). Kareena was OK, Salman was OK too, Sohail was decent too. The theme though is extremely Bollywood'ish (almost a mockery of the style).

I think u already know this, but I will explain to u. Chick flicks is also known as romantic comedy movies aka Rom Com. The target audience is generally women whereas action movies are also known as guy movies. Men prefer these movies. These terms are not derogatory as u made them sound. Its a common name given to specific genre of movies. Hope this clears what I meant in the previous post. Have a good day. :)

Sorry if I was rude, but your words "chick flicks are for chicks, not men" made me say that. Of course, chick flicks are targeted at women and are called so. Everyone knows that. But the way you posted it gave an impression that "men dont like or watch chick flicks and so they are a waste". Thats why I posted that way. Good day to you too!

Just watched Wake Up Sid (finally!). It was amazing! Really loved it, recommend it to everyone.

We got Blue and All the Best too. Not looking forward to watching either of them tbh, both look terrible. Might give Blue a shot :\.

I'm hating the trailers for Kurbaan. I don't want to know what Saifu and Kareena do behind closed doors; don't they feel awkward doing it (quite literally) in front of like a billion people? The guy has a son...

Plus, I hate anti American movies. America is the best (tied with India of course ;)) country in the world and accepts people of all backgrounds quite openly. I hate movies like New York and this because it is smearing the name of the country that is home to so many Indians.

Anyways..

Yeah Aamir's 3 Idiots is gonna be great and the movie of the year like Ghajini was last year. Cant wait for Ranbir's next movie with Kat as I really loved Wake up Sid, - looked like the story was on me. ;)

Yep, after Ranbir's performance today I really can't wait of Ajab Prem Ki Ghazab Kahani. What a mouthfull of a name though :p.

Looking forward to Three Idiots as well, obviously. Hating the Kareena factor though...

People always hate things that are good or best. Though, New York was a decently made film.I am waiting to watch 'Wake Up Sid'. Was to go to the theatre but the lack of interest at that time did me in. Hope a good print comes out soon.

Bud - you are pro-American and you are not comfortable with Saif-Kareena's "closed door intimacy"?

Anyways..

New York was not an anti-american movie. it was rather an anti-bush movie.
watch the ending closely...! and what they showed is true. innocent people
were tortured like that.and i was actually sympathizing john's character because when you are treated like that....one does(rather should) take drastic steps !

kurbaan is a love story set in the backdrop of terrorism...i doubt its an action / thriller movie. also, as said earlier....the promos give an impression
of new york meets fanaa !
