Ive seen Gandhi a million times, Ben Kingsley is such a genius (helps that he is part Indian too )

I'll check some of those outs, one of my teammates suggested "Border", but I have not been able to find it anywhere.

No Mark. I dont think you will appreciate Border at all. Its filled with the typical Indian over the top emotions, drama, etc that was so popular in those years of Bollywood.

Without song and dance? Very very rare films you will get. Song and dance is integral to Bollywood. Just skip it and you will be fine.

But once again, if you want a movie in a similar climate go for Zakhm. It is not about war but about Hindu-Muslim riots in Mumbai. Now that I think about it, it's easily one of the best movies I have ever watched.

Oh crap, you wanted English movies. These are all Hindi but come with subs. I guess you can always go for Gandhi tho.

Got to watch 'Zakhm'. The theme (Hindu-Muslim riots) sound interesting. I like such terrorism based films.

If people love terrorism based films, Roja/Dil Se/Bombay are great. Mani Ratnam is a master of terrorism based films.

That's exactly what I was going to recommend. Great movie, love every part of it esp when it's without any song . Underrated movie I have to say.

Zakhm totally pwnts A Wednesday. It is not really about terrorism though.

don't you guys think that our Bollywood is the luckiest to have born talented actors like Naserudhin Shah, Anupam Kher, Nana Patekar, Raj Kumar, Raj Kapoor, Rajnikanth, Rajesh Khanna... singers like Kishore Kumar, Lata Mangeskar, Rafi saab, Yeshudas..

Rajnikanth and Bollywood? He came with Tamil films. And he is more of an entertainer, than an actor. And you missed Amitabh Bachchan, probably among the top 3 of Bollywood all time.

Speaking of which. My mom and grandma went to Rajnikanth's daughters wedding last night (2 nights ago? idk) They even got to meet Rajni. Apparently he was SO humble, and so nice. I'm so jealous!!

My Grandma and the boys mom are like, neighbors or something. That's how they got the hookup.

I particularly meant Indian cinemas Rajni is just so unique, his antics his signature movements many stars tried to copy him and failed terribly.. there's always a crazy huge crowd of people in theaters!! I hope endhiran or Robot will be a big hit and will surely break all his previous movies record! Superstar Rajinikanth, Miss world Aishwarya, Oscar winning music maestro AR, known for his record breaking budgets director S Shankar!! cant really wait for this movie!!



Not much AB fan, but yeah he's a superstar. Sholay, Aanand the only ones i liked..

Rajesh Khanna is an icon of Indian cinema. His style is just amazing. He was like Rajnikanth where people came to see his films only for his style and mannerisms than for the screenplay. Some of his films were extremely good too like Aradhana, Kati Patang, Anand, etc.

Watched 'Peepli Live' today. Those suffering from insomnia can watch the second half of this film. Doctors around the world should officially make this the medicine for people's insomnia problems. First half was also average at best. OVER HYPED to the core film. 1/5 would be generous to this film.

You dont like Deewar, Trishul, Amar Akbar Anthony, Zanjeer, etc? Man, those were classics (esp. AAA is my all time favorite entertainment film where Amitabh rocked).

Yeah, cant wait for Robot (Endhiran). Good that Rajni is now getting the nationwide recognition that he deserves. He is a legend and he deserves the attention.
