Homework

Well I am on holidays for two weeks. So no homework for me. But I have like 2-3 assingments which sucks cause what is the point of the holiday if you are doing work in the holidays. Stupid if you ask me.

Although its holidays i have English Coursework, French Coursework, Maths Coursework and a Business Studies assignment and i am not happy about it. I have a life and have things to do...teachers obviously just sit at home marking books and don't understand i have a life outside of school

Exactly how I feel.

They just sit at home marking books which for them takes like 5 mins because they never do it properly. So then they can do what they want and we have to suffer. In the summer months i would prefer to be outside, but o no, its coursework or revision.

P.E teachers are the worst, especially at my school, they just stand there with a clipboard and have no marking whatsoever to do when they get home, disgraceful and lazy if you ask me, and they only work half a year, if that.

To be honest, I'm going to stick up for teachers here. My English teacher told me that marking through one piece of coursework takes about half an hour, so multiply that by however many pieces of coursework they have to mark and its an awful lot of time. You don't see what goes on behind the scenes and the amount of lesson plans they have to make.

Yes but i still don't think they should give coursework and revision during holidays. And what can you say about PE teachers??

It is prime time for revision. Students have time where they don't do as much as they would do in term time.

I don't know about your school, but our school's PE teachers run dinner-times and after school sports clubs.

Well ours run some after school sports clubs but not dinner times usually there away doing some sort of lazy activities. I don't really follow them all day.

I have just finished my scientific case study on whether or not mobile phones should be banned. I feel like a large weight has been lifted from my shoulders.

Couldn't be any more wrong, imo. The main difference between the good students and the bad ones is the amount of time spent on studies outside school.

in general yes

however i did no work in year 8/9 not much in 10 either, did in a couple of subjects

and yet im on for 1 c, potentially 3 A*s, a couple of As, and a few Bs

im only "failing" (as in less than a C) is IT, in which you are not allowed to do work at home as all the course has to be completed under supervised conditions

then against im probably an exception, did no chemistry homework in year 10 + 11 (11 not finished but im not doing any)

on a C from the modules, and in the mock, no revision, didnt listened in class, so basically a good knowledge of physics/biology and common sense has covered me

now i have realised ive got to do it for a level! so am revising, should comfortably get a B, perhaps an A if im lucky

to sum up, if you are moderately clever you can get sufficient GCSEs to do your preferred A-levels with little effort

I did something like this! It took ages. How much did you write?

That reminds me i have a language assingment. A English one too but i have plenty of time on that.
I had 2 assingments due on the last week of term and one 2 weeks before that. Im quite surprised cuz im only in year 7.

I have to do Triple Science as well, but its not that bad. Our physics teacher just p*ssed around for a term or so and has now left so we have to catch up in Bio n Chem lessons. It means all our revision has to be done at home and none in class :(

Our courseworks have to be done again because the school got it wrong the first time. We were allowed to type the stuff up at home and just finish it off at school on computers but apparently you have to do it hand written or on PCs with no internet access. Basically the guys doing Double Award have to do the whole thing again but because I'm doing Triple I only have to have one bit of coursework over the 2 yrs so I'm OK.

Plus I've got to do Maths a year early n do Further Maths next year bcos I'm in top set n we don't get a choice. So much work :(
