How are you doing in Cricket Coach 2009?

Hows the domestic database?

Is it close, or need working on?

I posted in your Bugs thread on the CC forums about another problem that has cropped up in the Pakistani database. A lot of major players are with teams that don't actually take part in the domestic competitions.

Yeah, I did read that.

I'll speak to you on MSN shortly about things we're doing, seeing as you've shown interest in the database.

The crashes are being knocked on the head every day. By the Ashes, I think the only problems will be the database, which really needs to be somewhat of a community effort to sort out.

I think for what you get, the price is pretty good.

You pay exactly the same for ICC2009 (No offence to them, I love the ICC series and play it myself) and you get 1 league (English County Championship), and you get the International stage.

There are still some problems, there's one with a few saved games, but we're working to try to get rid of these problems.

True, the variety of Domestic competition is what excites me. As well as the communication you have to Oli, straight from us. It's great to see that a problem is posted here and then fixed and updated. I may buy it tomorrow and try to help you out with the player database. Nothing annoys me more than an out of date or incorrect player database. :p

Me neither,

your point about communication is vital for the team as a whole, I feel strongly about everything you guys say, because like most of the guys who've commented, I've bought the game! So I want a good game for my money.

Keep the comments coming :)

Undecided as to which to get. I am currently leaning more towards CC09 for a couple of reasons: I've never bought CC09 before but when I've played the trial versions I have thoroughly enjoyed it. Also, I really do appreciate the work gone into this and what a fantastic result has been produced. Another reason is that it is different from ICC in a good way. I still enjoy playing ICC06 and don't really feel the need to buy another ICC, especially as I prefer the old style match engine on the older versions.

Simon, I have a few questions. Is this out in a boxed version? If so will it be on Amazon? And finally, this may sound stupid, but if i get the boxed version I am still able to update to the latest version of the game easily yes?

Cheers.

There should be a boxed version of Cricket Coach 2009. At the moment, its exclusive to online, and this is for a mixture of reasons, mainly because its not to the standard we yet want, its close, just a few more tweaks and we'll be there.

There is some discussion about the boxed version, but its nowhere near finalising.

Your best bet is to purchase on-line because its so simple to update, and you can get it today.

Feel free to keep asking questions :) I'll try my best to answer them.

Decided to buy it online. Started a save with Somerset and will give it a good bash tonight. Will post my feedback, maybe even in a review style, later on or tomorrow.

Finished my first game after a few hours (To be fair I was chatting with Simon and I did proff read an article for James (Jaztheman) :p) and I did enjoy it. Here's some pros and cons that I have noticed:

Pros:
- Thoroughly enjoyable
- Brilliant interface, very easy to find things and generally looks smooth
- Management side of things is great
- Match screen is easy to understand and is very informative

Cons:
- Don't know if this just a one off or not but AI seems to be pretty poor (as you will see from scorecard)
- Again, not sure if one off but quite a lot off catches and not many LBW's/bowled
- Run rates/scores need sorting but I do know that they are currently being fixed.

Overall I would give it 8 out of 10. 10 out of 10 for being enjoyable but 6 out of 10 for realism. Room for improvement but I would definitely say a well spent ?20 :)

I'm really enjoying this game at the moment, I've played a couple of season's with ND now and have really enjoyed playing in the NZ domestic comp. I still haven't won any of the comps though, came second in the One Day comp.

Onions only got one wicket!

I was surprised at that when I saw the scorecard. Onions has been a complete gun for me in all forms. Can just keep him bowling and he'll eventually get a couple of wickets, he's ridiculously good. Think I posted the screenshot of the best bowling figures in an innings for my England side didn't I?

Just to let people know, 3.05 is being worked on and is expected next week. This may change, but hopefully not.

The great news, there will be another trial attached to it.

What can we expect with the next patch?

I'm just waiting for Test scores to be sorted out before I dive into this game.
