How are you doing in ICC? (any version)

In Sidebottom's two tests under me he hasn't taken a wicket. His average is 301... yet 21 in ODIs. KP is still in awful form, he's only on 1 star, he's never been below 4 before.

KP's in crap form for me aswell, Shah, Strauss and Bell are my most productive batsmen atm. I am currently top of the Test Rankings and joint top of the odi rankings. I did however just lose a home test and odi series against Bangladesh, they were brilliant. I then beat West Indies 4-0 in the tests and have won the first odi of the series. I'm in 2010 season btw :D

Old Boys face an uphill battle

under 400 not too bad good work

Gillespie went on to make 130 and the total went up to 494ao ... Irani 3/104
England are 62/2 in their 2nd Inns... Trescothick went for 4, Crawley for 17...
Vaughn retired hurt with 9 after receiving a McGrath bouncer in the ribs ...
Occupying the crease are Ramprakash 20* and Butcher 7*

Just started a game on ICC 06 as India, done the test and odi series, managed to score 313 with Tendulkar in the 3rd test :D. I also won the test series 4-0, and the odi series 3-1. I wasnt using any of the massively experienced players other than Sachin, Dravid and Kumble though. My Test Team was:
Badrinath
Jadhav
Tendulkar (C)
Dravid
Manoj Tiwary
Suresh Raina
MS Dhoni
Pathan
Kumble
Zaheer
RP Singh

The team actually performed much better than i expected, was a good tour.

As some of you may be aware, I have been taking a team of youngsters through the ranks. I was on the verge of gaining my first victory in the four day competition.

After getting 6-500 declared in the first innings, I proceeded to bowl them out for 302 and then 332. Leaving me chasing 134 with 3 and a half sessions remaining. The screenshot tells the story...

Tendulkar is a beast on ICC 2006, he has 2 triple centuries in 4 test matches, albeit against West Indies and Bangladesh, but still, i'd never managed 1 triple hundred before i started using Tendulkar. With Tendulkar, Badrinath and Jadhav firing as my top 3, i just need to fill the rest of the top 6 with consistent young quality, Raina's alright but inconsistent, Tiwary is good but also inconsistent, Dravid is experienced but on bad form in my game, Uthappa cant bat on my game, Yuvraj is playing like an idiot, any reccomendations for fairly young indian batsmen >?

Spooky! I'm in 2010 too.

I just lost my first test vs Bangladesh, meaning I will forfeit either one or two points, I still will be top but that's not the point! I want to bring Strauss back in, despite not playing for a while, I want to bring him in to 3, KP 4, Bell 5. 3 centuries for Strauss in FC, might mean dropping Compton who hit a 46...Going to drop Hoggy for Rashid too. I have to play 2 spinners, I should've played Rashid but with Jones, Hoggard and Harmison all having good seasons I chose not too.

Damn!

It's those damn spinners!

Murali has retired, Sri Lanka now have Suraj, 140 odd wickets at 16!

Yeh, it's annoying that England really struggle against left arm spin in the game. Bangladesh bowled me out for under 150 in a ODI, i reckon they'll be up there with the best by 2015. Murali's retired on my game aswell, but Lokuarachi is their spinner now iirc.

Edit: Suraj is in their side on mine aswell, yet to play a test, but averages 17.68 in odi cricket, on current form anyway. Idarissi is their primary spinner, he has 92 test wickets at 19.00, so they're producing some pretty nifty spinners. Munday and Panesar are doing the job for me, Munday's the better of the two in terms of all round package, but Monty takes more wickets. Devastating when working together in a partnership. Herbert Wood is one of my top youngsters atm aswell, an opening partnership of Him and Denly in odi cricket is something that i am enjoying, just beat West Indies 4-1 in an odi series, the only game i lost was the game that i sim'd lol. Jimmy Anderson and Chris Tremlett are an awesome opening bowling partnership in odi cricket aswell, Hoggard gets the test place still though, although he is getting on abit, Tremlett might start the Ashes tbh.

I'm still searching for a decent, consistent keeper aswell, Prior was massively inconsistent, but Davies is worse, better with the gloves but pretty poor with the bat, especially in OD cricket. Who do you reccomend ?

I've got Prior obviously :D

Averages 40 in Tests, keeping wise he's no worse/better than the others. Takes most catches, let me put it this way, it's not on my mind to drop him for his catches. 4 or 5 Test hundreds, and an ODI hundred when I gave him an opening berth. My back up last year was Foster, when Prior was injured for 2 tests. Nothing special.

My ODI bowling attack is: Harmison, Jones, Rashid, Panesar and Flintoff. Anderson retired after 2007 iirc!!!! I used Bell as 5th bowler in Pakistan when Fred was injured for the ODI series, he did well, very well infact. Tom Smith is coming along nicely at Lancs, my Sidebotttom experiment ended, though he did really well in a few ODIs for me. Nothing in tests though.

Just finished my second season with my young guns. Ended up pretty decent.

In the last match of the season, we picked up our first FC victory, quite convincingly.

Coming third in our division for both the 20 20 cup and Challenge Trophy, we just missed out on qualifying, and I am expecting great things for the third season. Unfortunately we finished last in the Pro League.

Over these two seasons, we have had some great performances (albeit not with the ball). The most consistent of the batsmen has been Jazlink Cao, whose stats are as follows.

Odd names...

Lost my second test vs Bangladesh, despite centuries from Bell in both innings, no one else contributed. Rashid did well, as did Jones who got 8 wickets. Have no idea what to do with KP.

KP was in a similar dip in form in my game around the Bangla series, but he's starting to gain consistency again, averaging 54 in 2010 but keeps getting out before reaching 100, only has 2 test hundreds in 2 years. Just stick with him, he'll come good eventually. I dont honestly think there's any better English batsmen in the game. So did you lose the Bangla series 2-0 ?
